    How many of these do we see in the Church today? Tons. Their spruious Christianity will be found lacking. The hypocrite who is loud about his religion and had a reputation of being an eminent Christian….

    He’s not talking about Osteen! He’s talking about us! Ryle just pointed his finger at us.

    You nailed it! I would submit that keeping short accounts, as in confession, should be a priority to anyone serious about his or her walk!
    And what about that topic you rarely here of now-a-days! “Should you not fear me?” declares the LORD. “Should you not tremble in my presence?” (Jer. 5:22)

    These words from A.W.Pink are so moving!!

  9. Ryle and Pink……..in the same thread, even! What a wonderful blog site. Wish there were more preachers, theologians, ministers, and writers like these godly men of old.

    Bet their churches didn’t have teenager-led worship teams, latte stations in their foyers, and 20-30 minute “pulpit chats” on Sunday mornings (or evenings) either. Wonder if they were fans of Biblical hymnody as well (I’m betting they were).
