And they wonder why the world thinks Christianity is a joke. This has as much to do with Christianity as eating pork has to do with Islam.

I am Pentecostal, and I am very disturbed by many of these videos (like the one above) that you post.
I want to clarify for those who read your site that there is a difference between true Pentecostalism and charismaticism. I am not, nor will I ever be, charismatic. I do not, nor will I ever, act in the ridiculous manner of those in videos like the one you posted here.
True Pentecostal worship will always honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. And while our worship is enthusiastic (as it should be….we are worshiping the Lord!), you will never see such ridiculous antics in my church like what is portrayed in that video.
For anyone interested, here is a great link explaining the difference between true Pentecostalism and charismaticism.

Most who claim to be Pentecostal these days have gone the way of the charismatics and have therefore ceased to be Pentecostal. And I, for one, am weary of being lumped in with a movement/group I have nothing to do with.

Hi Amy,
I just wanted to say thanks a lot for the link and the comment above.
I have been born anew now since 1991, and because of a background where religion was a thing completely foreign to me, I ended up in a charismatic style church setting.
Over the years I have constantly come against a lax attitude in faith, some churches are obviously worse than others, but the remarks made in the document you linked to are very recognisable indeed.
For the last eight years or so I have been a worship leader, and though the Holy Spirit has given me such a level of intimacy as I have toiled in this ministry, my hardest job has been to maintain a call to holiness to the congregation. Sometimes feeling that I am actually against the church itself if that makes any sense!
I now also lead a home-group on a weekly basis too, where I constantly seek the Lord’s wisdom to reveal Scriptures to meditate upon together that will challenge aspects of our faith that are so often left untested by church leaders in general.
Thanks again for your comment, and take comfort in knowing that there are a core of sincere believers within a recognised apostate church that give our all to call the congregation we meet with to examine themselves closely in the light of God’s Word.
God bless,
John.
