Another “preacher” on Larry King . . . another missed opportunity.

The female version of Joel Osteen has been discovered. Regarding Paula White’s book You’re All That, Larry King asks “This is a self-help book?” She responds, “Well, I believe the Bible helps yourself. So I think, you know, it’s based around the biblical principles and truths that transform me.”

  1. She admits one does not have to be a believer to benefit from her message (5:45). What else needs to be said?

There is no life without Christ, regardless of how you live it. (John 3:36, I John 5:12)

Perhaps she and Joel Osteen could collaborate on a new book entitled “You’re Best False Hope Now”.

  2. Well at least what she believes is found inside of the “revealed Word of God”. According to her, she’s being Biblical and she is standing on the principles of Scripture. That must mean she’s right. At least she isn’t getting her belief from some external source. At least she isn’t questioning what she believes to make sure that it’s right. That would cause her to fall into all kinds of error.

Sorry… I could not resist that little jab. =P Like all people who believe errors, she is unable to diagnose her own problem and will not listen to others. Since she is right, there is no possibility that people who disagree with her could be right, too. She will stay this way as long as she lets her “faith” obscure objective reality and absolute truth.

This is what happens when you read the Bible, but you think that your opinions and discernment skills are better than everyone else’s. Pride comes before the fall. If you live this way, you will never notice that God always seems to agree like your gut instinct and you never have to work to believe anything that is contrary to your world view. False doctrine and idolatry almost never challenges your assumptions. They will never question your ability to figure out what absolute truth is. That is what makes them such nice gods to believe in. A god in your own image is a truly wonderful and loving god indeed!
