Wow…I’ve seen the Spirit of God throw people accross a room with out someone touching them but this is something else. I’m in the entertainment industry and all I see is something based in a sensory experience, brought on by music, screaming, a team of people to push you over and the hype you bring to the meeting.
I’ve been burnt by meetings like this when I was younger and all I can say is that God is bigger than the mistakes of man. I went to a meeting 2 weeks ago where the Holy Spirit feel on people in a very powerful way and the guy ministering was incredibly gentle. When he laid on hands it was a finger tip touch and he just let God do what God wanted to do. It was all about giving glory to Christ & not prooving that he was annointed.
The Father is raising up a nameless, faceless generation who are seeking his face of glory & not just his hands of provision.
He is bigger than an experience. I still want the experience though…
Again I say, God moves in power and it has nothing to do with what we bring to the table, other than the attitude Mary had when she sat at his feet. Don’t let misguided people rob you of what the Father can do to you…
I’ve been in these situations as well. I have had all of this. I’ve seen the tongues, the miracles, and the possession of the Holy Ghost. I’ve talked to snake handlers and all kinds of enthusiasts.
…and it is all shallow soil. The problem with basing the power of the Holy Spirit on an extreme experience is that you limit the power of the Holy Spirit to those situations. When you think that God only comes in thunder, fire, and glory, you miss the still small voice of His Word… the real action of the Holy Spirit.
The best example of this is Mother Teresa. When you continue to look to your feelings for proof of Christ’s favor and your salvation, you will be pleased for a season. But when the hard times come and the enthusiasm dries up, what do you have left? If feelings are the only thing that connect you to God, when fickle feelings go away (and they always do) you are left alone and broken. Read the words of Mother Teresa and the horrible ordeal that she went through when she “felt” that she was not close to God. Feelings can be an asset, but they are also a terrible burden.
The way of Christ is not a rollercoaster of highs and lows. It is a way of peace, love, humility, and discipline.
Here is a scripture that pentecostals cite to justify what they do.
Acts 2 v1-4, ‘Now when the day of Pentecost had fully come…
You know the rest.
And also Psalm 100 v1, ‘Make a joyful noise to the Lord …, and also verse 4, ‘enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise…
Having come out of the pentecostal movement, and being black, as so many in the video were, I understand their mentality.
Maybe I shouldn’t use the word mentality considering what the video is showing.
This was just soulish and emotional. But tell any pentecostal that and will say it was the Holy Spirit moving as in the day of pentecost.
So much more I could say, but …
God bless.

Who was it that said, “Let all things be done decently and in order.”?

I was brought up in the charismatic movement. 36 years old and just now figuring out it’s false doctrine.
