This week’s sermon is one that you simply must hear. Francis Chan delivers a very powerful sermon entitled Lukewarm & Lovin’ It that I’m sure left many in his congregation squirming in their seats. He starts off light-hearted but delivers a very convicting message. This is one of my favorite sermons.

Very good sermon. I, too, am amazed by the parallels between the Church of Laodicea in Revelation and the Church in America.
Even in my little church, which I love, a month or so ago, while a few were up at the front praying and weeping over the lost, many more were walking right out the door, untouched and unmoved and headed for the nearest restaurant.
Judging from my experiences in churches, I don’t think it is a stretch to say that most churches in this country, even Bible-believing ones, are filled up mostly with lukewarm, unconverted people. I don’t know if this is a sign of the times or if this is how it has always been, but it breaks my heart.
I appreciated Mr. Chan’s honesty regarding his own struggles. I don’t think any of us is immune from being swept away by the cares of this world, which is why we must zealously guard our hearts and continually examine ourselves to make certain our walk with the Lord is as it should be.

What a fearless and faithful representation of the message of the Lord. I’m speechless. I’m a layspeaker in my church and I would love to give a sermon like that but am afraid of the reaction. The lukewarm would spit ME out! I’ve gone down that path but never all the way. I’m going to pray on this and serve the Lord as He wishes regardless of the consequences. I’m thankful that He led me to this sermon.
