The Bible never says that God is “love, love love.” And it never says that God is “merciful, merciful, merciful.” But it does say God is “holy, holy, holy.” And the repetition is important, very important. You want to know what God is–who God is? God is holy. And if there was ever a message we needed to hear in America today, it’s that.
– Paul Washer
Amen!!! as for your previous post of the two girls strangled. It is so scary that someone can do this to two young girls. You are right, there are those who think there is no harm in Harry Potter. Hey, let’s have a Bible study on this, we can title it,
“When things go terribly wrong!”

I also agree. I’ve come to notice that more & more Christians are acting just as worldly & depraved as non-believers. This should also serve as a warning for those in positions of authority in the church especially, particularly in the face of 3 prominent “pastor” husband & wife teams making big scenes over their divorces & bad-mouthing each other in the process. However, as much as I agree with this quote from Paul Washer, I suppose it should be established that this was a message for Christians, as it could be potentially confusing for non-believers & those who are considering embracing Christ as their personal Savior.

Dear Caleb,
Thanks for the clarification. What you said is absolutely correct. Paul Washer is not saying here that the Bible doesn’t describe God as being Love and Merciful. It does! His emphasis is on God’s holiness and the fact that the only attribute the Bible describes of God in 3x terms is His holiness. Something forgotten and ignored by the Western Church today.
