None of us will will ever know Christ as a great Savior until we first know ourselves to be great sinners. If you and I do not recognize our need for the Gospel . . . we will never, ever tune in to the Gospel. . . . We will never, ever experience the glory of God’s salvation if we do not first experience the grief of our own sin.

Hey Pilgrim,
Don’t know if you know, but I just saw this. Gordon Hinckley passed away yesterday. Here’s the story from Washington Post:

What’s so sad is that there are millions who think that he is “with the Lord.” Just like they did with the Pope when he died. I don’t mean to sound like I’m being disrespectful of the dead or anything, but he is not where they think he is.
I think it would behoove us to tread carefully over the next few days, lest the world see us as being uncaring or unsympathetic–at the same time always speaking the truth to those who do not know it. And we should not, by any stretch of the imagination, stop our efforts to witness to these people and show them the truth.
