Every other source of strength outside of Jesus Christ is a bitter source that will bare poisoned fruit. You take the most self-righteous, the most disciplined, religious person on the face of the earth, and externally their works might appear to be pristine; [but] their fruit is biter gall, it is poison, it will lead to damnation and hell. God accepts nothing from our flesh but only that which is produced from the source of life that flows from His dear Son.
– Paul Washer
When I first read this, my thoughts immediately went to piety of the late Pope John Paul II & to Mother Theresa. They could have been the nicest people in the world, but unfortunately for them, they’re probably lost in hell for eternity because they weren’t born-again through Christ Jesus. It doesn’t matter how many poor people you feed, or how many times you pray for people, it is through the Blood of Christ ALONE that we are saved. Not saying that prayer & helping the less fortunate aren’t important, but again, it doesn’t atone for your sins. The same goes for somone like the Dalai Lama. He seems like a kindly old gentleman, but as he’s not saved, he’ll find himself in hell, provided he dies without repenting of his sins & trusting in Christ for salvation & not some Buddhist teaching.

You are absolutely correct Caleb. Sadly, the world cannot (or will not) accept this. The wisdom of the world demands that they cling to the idea that if so-and-so is a great, loving, and kind person, they get to go to Heaven in spite of what they may have believed about Jesus Christ.
God only provided one way to Heaven. And that way was very costly. It cost the very life of His Son.
