When the church is operated by and filled with those who refuse to be separate from the world and its culture, the resulting supply and demand produces “sermons” that tickle the ears and leave the people–at best–as empty and unregenerated as when they entered the building, and–at worst–with hearts that are that much harder and that much more resistant to the truth. But none of that is of concern to them because their churches are sooo awesome!

To be honest, I found this boring. Maybe it was because it had nothing to do with God.
If it has anything to do with God, please help me to see how. Thanks.

Doreen,
You hit the nail on the head! I can’t help you to see what’s not there.
These churches give great moral teachings completely void of the power of God unto salvation. It’s all about entertaining the goats instead of feeding the sheep.

Ecclesiastes 7:10 Do not say,
“ Why were the former days better than these?”
For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.
Maybe they would be wise to do a study called “I Love the Psalms in the 80’s”, starting with Psalm 86.
Psalm 86: 8 Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord;
Nor are there any works like Your works.
9 All nations whom You have made
Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And shall glorify Your name.
10 For You are great, and do wondrous things;
You alone are God.
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forevermore.
13 For great is Your mercy toward me,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

Yes, Ken, I too noticed that a bunch of “churches” were doing the EXACT same series at around the EXACT same time. Makes you wonder.
