Sermon of the week: “The 2007 Reality Check Conference” by Paul Washer.

I’ve found another uncompromising, convicting, powerful, must-hear sermon by Paul Washer. This is a compilation of highlights from a few different messages Paul Washer delivered at a 2007 conference. This is one of those Paul Washer messages that leaves you humble, contrite, and broken. Without further ado, I introduce you to your sermon of the week:The 2007 Reality Check Conference.

  1. Dear Isaiah:

You’re very welcome. I hope that many of the readers of this blog have come to expect sound doctrine and great teachings from the sermons I post here on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I don’t post any sermon that I haven’t personally listened to and can feel confident to pass on to the readers of RN.

  2. Yet again, Paul Washer delivers a message that the American church REALLY NEEDS TO HEAR. You know, it really makes me angry when I hear people like Joel Osteen say the Christian walk is going to be a piece of cake & God will reign down financial blessings on you & that’s what we deserve. But I think that Paul Washer’s story about the boy praying for God to give him what he deserves, really shows the grace of God by Him offering us what we DON”T deserve, but it also shows the egocentrism of many American Christians today. Here we have so many “pastors”, particularly Osteen preaching about living “Your Best Life Now.” But I would ask him, are the Christians in North Korea who face martyrdom living their best lives know? How about believers in Africa who are being butchered by the Muslims? How about my father, a godly man, who died a slow, painful & agonizing death from cancer & the grief I & my family faced in the wake of that? No, & many pastors are preaching this fluff when they need to hear the Gospel!!! Thank God we have pastors like Paul Washer, John MacArthur & John Piper willing to tell it like it is.
