  1. Yeah, what was 1st Corinthians 14:26-32 about? Oh, yeah: ORDERLY WORSHIP.
“What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church. If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God. Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” (1st Corinthians 14:26-32)

  2. Greetings to all,

There is no wonder that people look at all Christians as PON (pack of nuts). So many people have been thankfully awakened by the Holy Ghost, whereas they have repented of such non-sense. There is no wonder that so many have departed the charismatic false church, but sadly, this price is high, whereas too many have became inoculated and departed the faith altogether. It is truly sad that grown-ups have to jump around like “The Three Stooges.” The Curly Shuffle has nothing on these people on the video…..

  3. The more I study the Bible, the more convinced I am that God does, indeed, want us to “make a joyful noise” and rejoice in Him. King David, the man after God’s own heart, danced before the Lord with all his might. In Psalms, we are repeatedly told to shout for joy! The Israelites once shouted for joy so much the earth shook!

I have no desire to comment on the video, as I know nothing about the people or churches in them. I do wonder, however, how many people would be sneering with contempt if King David had been caught on video dancing exuberantly before the Lord his God.

Let me clarify that I abhorr the “charismatic” nonsense that goes on in churches today. But I also take issue with this notion that God does not want us to utterly rejoice and celebrate so glorious a salvation as we have been given. You’d better believe when I am filled to overflowing with the joy of the Lord, I am going to jump and dance and shout! And I believe wholeheartedly that such expressions of joy are pleasing to the Lord!

  4. Dear Amy:

I agree with you. However, in many of the instances in which this video depicts I can say I’ve “been there and done that.” I came from a lot of these types of churches where there was much of this going on but little studying of the Bible. Much hopping and jumping around with music to make us feel good, and very little holiness being practiced by those celebrating the most. I know because I was one of them.

    There’s certainly a fine line.

  5. Greetings Amy,

Years ago, I spent many a moon in the charismatic ranks. The charismatic churches that I attended had and have some of the nicest people that ever walked the earth. I mean some would take the shirt off of their back and throw in the buttons for free. However, some are more than willing to take the shirt off the backs of others!
However, I don’t have a clue concerning your background. I would assume that you are not a member of the charismatic clan since you say that you abhor them? The problem is not the celebrating of the Lord in spirit and in truth like King David did. King David had a reverence for the Lord and worshipped a sovereign God, in love and with righteous fear. Like David, I too celebrate and shout to the Lord but within a setting that is respectful to give God the glory. Making a spectacle out of one’s self for fleshy recognition and earthly trinkets is just wrong.
Amy most of the charismatic ranks are celebrating and dancing jigs to false healings, money, false power, false prosperity, and false tongues; while castigated their ranks for not putting enough time, money and free-labor to satisfy the leadership. To sum it up most don’t dance to the Lord but most dance in way that promotes their agenda. The charismatic ranks are basically Arminians; if not all out Pelagians. Their free-will agenda brings a wholesale slaughter of the doctrine of God and this is the opposite of the Reform belief of a Sovereign God. I have had charismatic members tell me, “We don’t believe in or need doctrine (The Holy Bible) as long as this spirit makes my haaaiiiirrrrr stands up.” How sad….. Amy, I challenge you to talk to ten charismatic members and ask them “Should we be like a Berean” (Acts 17)? I would bet you that eight out of ten wouldn’t have a clue. I asked several, “Who was Martin Luther”? Of the several charismatic members that I asked all replied that he was an African-American preacher that was shot in Tennessee.
    Have a good week.

  6. I was watching the contortions of the people in the video, and then I noticed the song playing. I was wondering if the Lord sees any hypocrisy in my grieving over the girl with a seductive look in the “Spirit” jeans post, and then turning around and finding amusement over a song containing the lyrics, “I wanna see you wiggle it, just a little bit.”

    Just a thought
