Entertaining goats.

I’m saddened to report yet another “ministry” of ear tickling has come to our attention. When your church is in need of growth, enlist the help of McCart Ministries for Magic Tricks, Ventriloquism, Comedy Acts, oh . . . and Sermons too.

That boring old Gospel message just doesn’t cut it anymore.

  1. I’ll have to only partly (90%) agree… I hear that doing a short little magic act before open air can be useful to draw a crowd. (God forgive me I’m still struggling with courgage to pass out tracts!) Tricks and jokes at the expense of the Gospel? NO! Using it briefly as a draw and then a solid message? Why not.

  2. I agree with you Berry in that context. When you are attempting to grab the attention of the masses as they scurry by, an attention grabber is not necessarily bad (within reason of course because some hip pastor may implement Go-Go Dancers to draw a crowd as he’s “being all things to all people”).

It appears that this particular “ministry” isn’t involved in going out to the world, but available to be booked in the “Churches.” The people sitting in the pews desperately need the pure, unadulterated Gospel, NOT more entertainment.
