John MacArthurPeople who don’t want scrutiny, people who don’t want to be held accountable for what they teach or what they believe, people who don’t want to be told they’re wrong, they always throw that verse “Judge not lest you be judged!”

  1. Just like John MacArthur says, we have experienced that same thing. This is so taken out of context and I get so tired of hearing people say it to excuse their sin and lack of desire to do what is right. We have explained this verse to several people and all they can seem to do afterwards is splutter. If people would study their Bibles diligently they would know that they have taken that verse out of context but it seems like the general public is too lazy! May God help us to be Berean Christians and desire to serve Him in every area of life!

  2. I agree with the above post & with John MacArthur. Too often people try to get Christians “off their case” by throwing out that verse as a way to basically say: “stay out of my business.” I will go beyond what John MacArthur pointed out & also add that I feel that Jesus was also referring to the self-righteous & the hypocrites, as evidenced in the rest of that section of Matthew 7
