Happy New Year . . . and another false prophet is exposed.

Happy New Year . . . not so much for Pat Robertson, though.

Now that 2007 has passed, so has Pat Robertson’s credibility–if he’s even had any left after endorsing a pro-homosexual, pro-abortion candidate for president (see this post).

When he’s not endorsing presidential candidates that he has no business endorsing, he’s madly uttering false prophecies like a pre-1975 Jehovah’s Witness! Watch Pat Robertson in 2006 make his prophecies for 2007 (that failed to come to pass) in the video on this link.

Here’s some of the exchange from this video between Robertson and his co-host on the 700 Club:

Pat Robertson: “I have a relatively good track record, sometimes I’ve missed but–”

Terry Meeuwsen: [Interrupts] And without doubt every year as you seek God, I guess this is His promise to all of us, but as you go away and seek Him for the coming year God shows you some amazing things.”

No Terry, he has uttered presumptuously in the name of God things that have not come to pass. According to Deuteronomy 18:20-22 this means he’s met the criteria of a false prophet. He’s admitted to being a false prophet and you have glossed over that.

If I expose Mormonism for their false prophecies and Jehovah’s Witnesses for their false prophecies, then I would be a dishonest hypocrite to ignore or give a pass to Pat Robertson for his false prophecies!

In the above linked video he announced that in 2007:

It would bea year of extraordinary miracles.

It’s going to “seem to the people like Heaven has come down to earth.”

“There will be some very serious terrorist attacks.”

“There’s a possibility that–not a possibility, a definite certainty that chaos is going to rule.”

“It’s going to happen, and I’m not saying necessarily nuclear, the Lord didn’t say nuclear, but I do believe it will be something like that. That’ll be mass killing, possibility millions of people, major cities injured.”

“We should expect miracles beyond our wildest fantasies in the first six months, and after, then chaotic.”

Read the Scripture for yourself Terry:

But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die. You may say in your heart, “How will we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

Mormon distributor “Deseret Book” now selling Joel Osteen’s “Become a Better You.”

joseph-smith.jpgjoel-osteen-pic.jpg

How bad can Joel Osteen’s watered-down, candy-coated, version of the gospel be? So bad that it’s being sold to Mormons by Mormons!

Joel Osteen’s “gospel” is so far from biblical orthodox Christianity that the Mormon distributor Deseret Books feels Become a Better You is safe enough to sell to Mormons.

Congratulations Joel: You have successfully perverted the gospel so much that it’s now palatable to Mormons.

Here’s the link.

Come to church . . . win a TV!

Are you a pastor struggling to boost your church attendance so you can brag about it at your next pastors convention?

Tried all the other means of growing your church like watering down the gospel, and still haven’t been invited on Larry King Live?

Well try this approach: Seattle Baptist Church recently offered two great incentives to get the “unchurched” into church.

1). Come hear a Christian millionaire speak. (Like they can’t do that from home watching TBN).

2). Offer them a chance to win one of two Panasonic 52″ LCD flat screen televisions.

Oh Amy Grant, what have you become?

Contemporary Christian Music recording artist Amy Grant is receiving her star on Hollywood’s walk of fame in this clip. But not all is at it seems. Amy Grant utters something that may come as a shock to some (hopefully many).

Skip ahead to 8:00 minutes and begin listening from there. Her comment hits at exactly 8 minutes and 21 seconds. And what’s equally disappointing is the reaction of the crowd.

Amy, did you not care about the children that were in attendance? Did you not care about the influence of your behavior and immodest dress on those who look up to you? Did you not care about the example you set for the Savior that you claim to represent?

Modern-day goddess worship in a “Lutheran Church”

Time to put on your Discernment Caps (similar to Thinking Caps). Can you spot any heresy in the five minute video of Herchurch of San Franciso, California?

For those whose discernment is rusty, I recommend starting with their “goddess rosary” and this poem/song from their website:

We Praise Our God of Many Names

Tune: Tallis’ Canon

Text: Jann Aldredge-Clanton (Adapted)

We praise our God of many names;

Our Great Creatress we proclaim;

Our Mother, Goddess, Friend and Guide

Walks with us always by our side.

The Living Water in us flows,

The Bread of Life helps us to grow;

The Christ-Sophia will abide

Where minds and hearts are open wide.

Our Sister Brother Spirit calls

With words of peace to break the walls;

The Holy Spirit, Heavenly Dove

Will fill us with abundant Love.

The “next big thing.” The latest fad is now the I-35 Prophesy.

Every few years the “church” in America needs some new hype to keep it interested in its own narcissistic version of Christianity.

This video raises an interesting question (0ne of many). Does the Holy Spirit fill someone (Fire!, Fire!) without there first being some acknowledgment and turning from sin (repentance) and the regeneration (conversion) of the sinner, or does the Holy Spirit of God dwell in those who have not even come to faith in Jesus Christ, and just wanted to feel the “presence of God?”

I will not say anything more above this video and let you, the readers, weigh in. Can you spot how many things are wrong with this?

The Beatles and Church: Mixing darkness with light.

beatles.jpg Lately there’s been an infatuation with and an endorsement of the Beatles by those who are supposed to be shepherds and pastors of their respective “churches.” Now, if these “churches” are promoting, endorsing, and honoring the Beatles–and mixing them with the things of the church–then they must be a band worthy of “sharing time” in the house of God, right? Much like what was done at this church, and this church, and this church, (just to name a few).

Well, I thought I’d take this occasion (the 27th anniversary of his death) to examine just one of the Fab Four–John Lennon–to see how the Beatles measure up.

What did John Lennon say himself?

“Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink…. I don’t know what will go first, rock ‘n’ roll or Christianity. We’re more popular than Jesus now. Jesus was all right, but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.” (London Evening Post, March 04, 1966)

“Christianity will go, it will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue about that. I’m right and will be proved right. . . . We’re more popular than Jesus now.” (The San Francisco Chronicle, April 13, 1966)

On page 14 of his book A Spaniard in the Works, John Lennon describes Jesus this way: “Jesus El Pifico, a garlic-eating, stinking little yellow, greasy fascist bastard Catholic Spaniard.”

Toward the end of his life he described himself as a “Zen Christian, Zen pagan, Zen Marxist” (Christianity Today June 12, 2000).

What did others say about John Lennon and the Beatles?

“We probably seem to be anti-religious. . . none of us believes in God.” – Paul McCartney (Hit Parader, Jan 1970, p.15)

“They’re COMPLETELY ANTI-CHRIST. I mean, I am anti-Christ as well, but they’re so anti-Christ they shock me which isn’t an easy thing.”
– Derek Taylor, Press officer for the Beatles (Saturday Evening Post, Aug. 8, 1964).

“I’ve sold my soul to the DEVIL.” – Ray Coleman quoting John Lennon (Coleman, Ray, Lennon p.256)

What about John Lennon and the Hare Krishna’s?

The Hare Krishna devotees had been visiting with the Lennons’ for several days, discussing world peace and self-realization. Because of this and other widespread exposure, people all over the world soon began to identify the chanting Hare Krishna devotees as harbingers of a more simple, joyful, peaceful way of life. Hare Krishna News Network

Nineteen sixty-nine was for John Lennon a year of intense search for social and personal liberation. He had already been to the Maharishi and later would enter primal therapy and left-wing politics. He was in a major transitional period; he had married Yoko Ono in March, and the Beatles were about to break up.

On September 14, John, Yoko, and George Harrison, after enjoying an Indian vegetarian meal prepared by the devotees at the Temple, walked over to Srila Prabhupada’s quarters for their first meeting. Three months before in Montreal, some of the Hare Krishna devotees had sung with John and Yoko during the recording of “Give Peace a Chance.” And now they were about to meet the guru who brought the Hare Krishna mantra to the West.

Their lively discussion with Srila Prabhupada, which you can hear by listening to the RealAudio clip on this page, deals with the path to peace and liberation, the eternality of the soul, reincarnation, the nature of God, qualifications of the guru, and the authority of Bhagavad-gita (the Indian spiritual classic still sacred to 600 million people. Hare Krishna New Network

I’m not shocked that the Beatles did these things or said these things. After all, they were just doing what comes natural to fallen man. What is shocking (and an abomination and an absolute affront to God) is that these pastors wolves in sheep’s clothing will bring this trash into their “churches” and defile the house of God. What does light have to do with darkness? What does Belial and Christ have in common? What business do the Beatles have being mixed with the church? (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

You wolves who are doing this are being called out! This is apostasy! Either repent and turn from this blasphemy, or at least practice truth in advertising and remove the title “church” from your Sunday morning social gatherings!

We have already been warned :

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Christian and Gothic. Can there be such a thing?

For those who have a morbid fascination with death, darkness, and the macabre, and want a little religion on the side, fear not, for you don’t have to die to self and become a new creation anymore. Now you too can become a professing Christian and remain a “Goth” at the same time.

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

I have no intention of making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I found an interesting post on the blog True Discernment and thought some of you may want to weigh in on it. (Also see Independent Conservative’s similar post here). It features Christmas greetings from two popular women “pastors.” As supposed Christian leaders, do you see any problem with Juanita Bynum and Paula White’s Christmas greetings? Is this just a by-product of who they truly are? I mean Christ of the Bible is often times absent from their “sermons” (in place of health, wealth, prosperity, and even sex) so why should He be included in their Christmas greetings? What do you think?

Another “preacher” on Larry King . . . another missed opportunity.

The female version of Joel Osteen has been discovered. Regarding Paula White’s book You’re All That, Larry King asks “This is a self-help book?” She responds, “Well, I believe the Bible helps yourself. So I think, you know, it’s based around the biblical principles and truths that transform me.”

Thanks to Independent Conservative for this video. Check out his commentary on this video here.
