  1. I used to use that same argument (“It’s a woman’s body, it’s her choice,” etc etc) when I was pro-abortion back in the late ’80’s. But I’ve come to realize many things in the intervening years, such as (1) what is in the woman’s body is a human being in the fetal stage of development, and (2) her rights end where the umbilical cord begins.

  2. Abortion can be good and bad. Sadly you Christians seem to be one sided about EVERYTHING. Abortion is good if say, A woman is raped, And is too young to raise a child. Then you may say ‘What about adoption?’ Well I say ‘What about the staggering population problem?’ If we completely got rid of abortion then the country would be getting anally raped with population issues. And abortion can be bad if girls are simply using it as protection. Example “Who needs birth control or condoms. I’ll just have an abortion!”
You Christians need to learn that not everything is 100% bad or 100% good. Your so quick to apply the title of good and evil. You’re blind.

  3. Robert, allow me to take your argument to its logical conclusion so I can better understand your position:

So the woman who drowns her 3-month old baby in the tub because 1). She realizes that she’s too young to raise the child; or 2). The child is a product of a rape; or 3). Environmentalists tell us the earth is overpopulated, (or a combination of all three), is actually doing good? Whereas the woman who drowns her 3-month old baby in the tub because her philosophy is, “Who needs birth control or condoms” is bad?

Thank you for making the pro-abortion defense a little clearer for those of us out here who ignorantly see things black and white, right and wrong.

This only leaves me with one question: In this scenario of the woman drowning her 3-month old child, (what I like to refer to as a post-birth abortion or PBA), would the former be 100% right and the latter be 100% wrong?

  4. Robert, fine in theory, sucky in practice. Because abortion isn’t some good thing women choose because they’re free. It’s an evil that far too many feel trapped into.

Take it from Ashli, who has been there, done that. Abortion can seem like this really magnanimous thing — to let other women end up submitting to.

Yeah, some women abort without a qualm. They tend to be the women you’d sympathize with the least. The ones who are in their peak childbearing years, financially stable, in good relationships, in good health, who simply don’t want a baby and are filled with resentment that this upstart fetus had the gall to get conceived in their bodies without an express invitation. The women who seem most “in need” are the ones for whom it’s a cruel “Sophie’s Choice” decision.
