  1. Please be so kind as to explain to me why you feel it is perfectly acceptable to post this photo yet so horribly offensive to use an inflatable device that SOMEWHAT resembles a penis…

  2. Christos,

There are plenty of references. Amongst many things, however, is because I saw in XXXChurch a type of Christian who was not judgmental as many of those I see posting here appear to be. The Jesus I read about in the Bible loved sinners very much. Most of the Christians I’ve known in my life have not shown this Jesus. XXXChurch did. Over the course of 2 years they responded with love every time I showed them hatred. That worked on my mind and opened it to the realization that my problem was not with God, I just had a hard time with those claiming to represent Him.

Had I encountered only the types of people I’ve seen posting comments on the last blog entry I never would have left porn production.

I’m now enrolled in Seminary. I also travel the country with the XXXChurch team talking to people about the realities of porn. People can hate all they want, but I’m living proof that God uses that ministry.

  3. More than half the population has a penis, my friend. Wally doesn’t show any detail, nor should it be something shameful. If you took the time to educate yourself before complaining you’d know the story behind Wally. He was used as a prop at a porn convention, and attendees were asked to “Have the balls to stop looking at porn” for 7 days. It started lots of great conversations.

  4. And you’re right, I don’t think any answer you provide will be sufficient, as you appear to be stuck on the “Christians need to be offended by everything, and always as judgmental as possible” type of attitude that turned me off to Christianity all those years, as it does to much of the world.

You must be kidding. I pray you are kidding. Pictures like this ought to be posted on every website, every billboard and even 60 second TV spots showcasing this brutal atrosity that has turned our country red with the blood of innocent babies.

Donny, seriously . . . you’re not helping your case.

  7. Donny, I’m right there with ya. The only difference btween many of the christian zealots here and the Taliban/Al Qaeda is that the Taliban/Al Qaeda has governmental power and support and the other fortunately does not (but watch out for Huckabee). If they did they’d have your head on the chopping block for the penis stunt (but its lovely to show hacked up babies to 5 year olds and while eating my dinner – I guess 2 wrongs do make a right.

  8. Are these images really necessary? I doubt that anyone who would be swayed by such a sight would visit this site, and since we are all supposed to be professing Christians, there’s no need to see pictures of something we already shouldn’t believe in.

And may I remind everyone to speak the truth in love. It is one thing to disagree, but quite another to judge, and this extends both to those who happen to disagree with someone and to those who think others judge too much.

    God bless.

  9. Meredith, there is nothing wrong in judging…1 Cor. 5:12 ” For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?”

Plus the pictures are something, I too agree with…we should see them. God sees them, God knows…should we be oblivious to it as well? Read Ezekiel 33

“But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from a watchman’s blind.”
“When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity but his blood I will require from your hand.”

We hope issues like this get swept under the rug, we don’t want to be mindful of this, and any thing else that God despises! We want our pretty little churches, have our pot lucks, basketball fellowships, and social “club” events. God is holy…Period!! Brother keep posting the pictures, keep posting the quotes you do. we so desperately need reformation!

  10. Pilgrim,

Thank you for posting this. Don’t be talked down by those who would rather keep people ignorant of the truth about abortion. And Meredith, as far as your question of how this picture could persuade people: Back in ’91 I was about as pro-abortion as one could be. I knew all the left-wing talking points, and was thoroughly convinced it was a “choice.” Until Operation Rescue came to town, and the local news featured footage of a priest showing the dead body of an child who had been murdered by a saline abortion.

    The change was instant.

Ever since I saw the truth, I have been as fiercely pro-life as a person could be. Still am. So, yeah, I guess I can see why you wouldn’t want anybody seeing the results of abortion. You could also go to http://www.abortionno.org if you want to see it in living color. But do be advised, the content is very graphic. You’ve been warned.

  11. Meredith, I’m sorry the wisdom of your counsel has so quickly been tossed aside by the other respondents. They are why Christianity has steadily lost (and will continue to lose) adherents in this country over the past 40 years – people are tired of their worn and tired rhetoric. They focus too much on why they’re “right” and not enough on living the example of Christ.

To the rest of you, I’ve perused many of the posts under “abortion,” and find it interesting that the majority of the comments (if not all, save for Meredith’s), are from men. Does this tell you anything? It should.

The loss of any life is cause for sadness and grief. This is why I find it so ironic that a good portion of you likely voted for George W. Bush during both campaigns. The man who lied to get your vote and then lied again when he sent our sons and daughters to fight and die in an unjust war. Why are there no grotesque pictures of mangled service men and women on this site? Do you think God approves of GWB’s selfish use of American lives to pad his and daddy Bush’s pockets with oil revenues and defense contracts? I really doubt it.

Perhaps the reason there are no pictures of decapitated military personnel is because you don’t want to be reminded that you and everyone else who voted for GWB have these young men and women’s blood on your hands…

Why not mull this over before posting another awful picture or commenting about how right you are and how wrong abortion is. Quit dealing out judgment and start living the love Christ taught.

  12. Jerome M,

If you paid careful attention you’d see that this blog is not about politics. Does it occasionally touch on topics that are related to politics? Sure. But it is predominantly not a blog on politics. If you choose to steer the comments on this thread to the Iraq war, and GWB, and any other issues you want to rant on regarding politics, you’ll probably be doing so alone. To repeat; this blog is not about politics and many of those who freely choose to visit here aren’t here for politics.

Now I must admit, the pro-abortion movement has done a successful job at taking the murder of innocent and defenseless children (those who did not enlist in a military knowing that it could cost them their lives) and turning it into a political issue only. As far as I’m concerned this issue is not about politics and the abortion problem will never be solved by politics.

And once again, you use the same, worn-out, tactic of diversion. Don’t address the issue (except to give the token “I think abortion is wrong but . . .” or “The loss of any life is cause for sadness and grief“) but instead make ludicrous comments that imply men can’t have any opinion on the murder of children, (unless of course those men are pro-abortion, then they can speak all they want). I suppose I should have no comment on slavery because I’m not black either?

And then there’s the old, “look how many people died in such and such war” diversionary tactic.

Do you realize that more children (American citizens) are disemboweled, dismembered, and decapitated in abortion clinics on any given day (everyday) than American citizens died on 9/11. And how about other wars? Oh, I’m glad you brought it up. I’ve posted a chart on how many died in various wars compared to how many die in the womb. And don’t talk about wars for the sake of $ as an argument for abortion. Do you even have a clue how big the abortion industry is?

But I’m sure none of this really matters. You believe what you believe and nothing I say will change that.

Oh, and then you said, “Quit dealing out judgment and start living the love Christ taught.” You mean like how you just judged me and every male that commented on here about abortion? And really, Jerome, I don’t mean to sound abrasive, but I don’t know how else to say this: I will not take my lessons on how to live like Christ from you. But thanks for the suggestion.

With all do respect, I do get tired of people coming in here and telling me what I should or should not blog about. I don’t go to your blog and try to tell you what you should discuss about instead of Witchcraft, Paganism, or whatever else you’re practicing. Debate the issues if you wish, but don’t tell me what the content of this blog should be. I hope you can understand that.

And finally, if so many of you don’t like the topics on this blog, I hope you remember that no one is forcing you to come here. Simply do NOT type this blog into your address bar and you won’t have to be angered and offended by what you read and see. Besides, by your assertion Christianity is just a dwindling and dying faith, so why bother with it?

  14. He also has a post on his blog that links to this post entitled:
Silly Fundamentalist Award of the Week.

    It reads:
    “Oh boy…this one’s a doozy.
The image at the other end of this link is as objectionable as most of the comments underneath it. Proceed at your own risk.”

With one fell swoop he attacks (judges) this post and everyone that commented on it (only those that disagree with his views, of course).

The sword of ridicule and mockery are always a delight to behold when it’s wielded in the hands of those with delusions of ultra-tolerance as they, at the same time, school you to be more loving.

A little bit of “do as I say but not as I do” mixed with a whole lot of “attack the messenger” and you get a classic text-book DIVERSION!

  15. I’m a little slow to respond sometimes, so I’m aware that this is an old post. But, I’d like to say something anyway.

I don’t have any problem with the posting of these pictures and why you (and others) believe that you need to. I work in a Christiand maternity home (where non-Christians live) and many of the women I spend time with have had abortions. I only speak from experience when I say that showing these pictures does nothing to convince them they are wrong and show them Christ’s love. In fact, it often turns them away. But I do know that this type of thing can turn people from sin and to God, I’d never discount that. I just think it’s more of a decision we all have to make about what is the best way to show Christ’s love to others.

And even if you guys don’t agree with someone (aka Jerome), I don’t think that you should insult him in order to show your own superiority, And even if he is wrong by your opinion, I don’t remember Jesus demeaning people. You can disagree, but don’t let it lead to that.

  16. And yet again Meredith’s words of wisdom ring clear. These pictures do not show non-believers Christ’s love, and they definitely will not convince anyone who is pro-choice that they are wrong. In my *opinion*, it’s nothing more than emotional guerilla warfare.

I too am guilty of demeaning someone just because they don’t agree with me (my “Silly Fundamentalist” post). I could shirk responsibility for my actions and say “they started it” or by justifying my actions with Scripture, but instead I’ll just own my imperfection and apologize for calling them silly.

After the dust settled here I realized that I chose to get drawn into this by visiting and commenting. A sign of spiritual and emotional maturity, one I envision Christ as having and one I aspire to, is loss of interest in conflict. It’s neither my place to convince others to buy in to my perspective nor to call them wrong if they disagree.

Thank you for presenting me with the opportunity to learn this lesson.
