Thanks to Amy (a commenter on this thread) for alerting me to the following video. Because of it, I have decided to wield my newly-granted powers as editor to add a new category called “If I Was Dying…” As in, “If I was dying, and I walked into your church seeking the truth about where I was headed, would I find it? Or would I leave unchanged, walking toward the gates of Hell with a joke in my mind and a song in my heart?”
I’ll let the man in the video speak for himself…
This guy hits the proverbial nail on the proverbial head like I’ve never seen.
While watching this video I didn’t feel so much humor or even “Amen,” but sadness. Sadness because I understand exactly what this guy is saying. I’ve been trying to express this for years now, but with this effective use of media, he made it clearer than I ever could (but it’s inevitable people will still not ‘get it’).
I remember a few years ago I confronted the pastor of the church I was attending at the time. One of the myriad of issues I brought to him was that week after week, month after month, year after year, all he did was tell jokes and funny stories with some Scripture thrown in. I tried in vain to convince him to ‘get serious’ and quit trying to be a comedian, for the sake of anyone who will sit through his ‘show’ and then die that week–never hearing the true Gospel of Christ but instead hearing how funny the pastor could be.
His answer to me was that God made him funny so that’s who he is and that’s what he’ll continue to do. Sounds very familiar to the excuse those steeped in sin use to justify their continued willful sinning: “God made me this way.”
To not keep you in suspense, I quickly moved on. If you notice I said that it was the church that I “was attending.”
Anyway, this was such a great video. Hats off to those who made it. I would like to reference some past posts on this same issue.
I published a personal post on this very topic back in 2007 here:

Woe to the churches. At my former church the pastor used to say if you’re not sure that you’re saved, come and see me after the service. In other words he would convince them they were. Also stand up if you don’t feel worthy to be saved., and then he would pray for the poor unfortunates and tell them they are worthy. This is so very, very sad. You can go to church and listen to all this meaningless stuff which means nothing, unless you are trying to impress the world how much like it you are. They wouldn’t have a clue about renewing our mind, the washing of the Word, dying to self. Excellent video, for everyone to examine what teaching they sit under.

Resounding video, speaks volumes.
It is the sort of video every pastor and church should hear, instead of resorting to entertainment to make people feel good about themselves, especially when they are self-deceived and lost.
I’m hope I can get as many people as I can to view this video.
God bless.

In the interest of truth, having heard all the rumors and seen all the video clips about Granger Community Church (www.gccwired.com), we thought we’d go to a service when we visited our son earlier this winter, who attends college about ten miles away.
Granger is in the video twice – from 2:22-2:30 and 3:37-3:53. The service we attended is the one shown in the second portion. We were in Row 7, in line of sight of the camera doing the live feed, which is the right side of the video.
It’s as bad as you’ve heard. I posted on the visit here. Many don’t know Granger is a United Methodist Church. What would John Wesley say if he walked in there today? Boggles the mind.

This video shows the bitter fruit of the apostate church in America. People are crying out for hope, and all they’re being offered is confusion and emptiness. I hope this will serve as a wake up call to all who view it.
Thank you!

King of Kings Lutheran Church of Omaha Nebraska
(which is a seeker-friendly and Rick Warren obsessed church
runned by a Pastor Mark Zehnder
King of Kings BTW is a church that is part of the Willow Creek Assocation
(enough said)
does the same thing every easter by having their event at the Qwest center here
not sure Zehnder and his church does this
so they can look important I guess.

anyone else thinks it is time for Perry Noble
to resign from being a pastor at Newspring “church”
considering his antics and the fact he is giving his followers at his church nothing but itching ears

Get Out of the Pulpit by Roxylee Genre: Folk (contemporary)
(aka a song dedicated to goat-herders like Noble)
we’ve been hearing about abominations
Going on in the house of the Lord
Devils mocking holiness, who teach prosperity
Then take your hard earned money they will hoard
Preachers are now just pop psychologists
Stand up comedians, or worse
Repentance isn’t mentioned, sins are just mistakes
Nothing taught from chapter and verse
Get out of the pulpit
Go find another job
You have no business pastoring
You don’t care for the flock
You have your own kingdom
Your fear of man is cursed
Repent and preach the Bible
Or get out of God’s church
We now hear doctrines that are taught by demons
You need to be familiar with God’s Word
The guy up front who calls himself a teacher
Rambles on about himself, it’s so absurd
The good news of the gospel is fast fading,
Neo- universalism is p.c.
The “many roads to Rome” is now accepted
And the offense of the Cross is history
Get out of the pulpit
Go find another job
You have no business pastoring
You don’t care for the flock
You have your own kingdom
Your fear of man is cursed
Repent and preach the Bible
Or get out of God’s church
Jesus, fully God and man is Savior
He died, then rose again to make us free
We cone to him by grace alone by faith in Him
For his atoning work at Calvary
Sola -Scriptura has become passé
As a smorgasbord of poison is our fare, if you’re
in a lukewarm driven, me me sensitive church Lite
Protect your family and Emerge from there!
Get out of the pulpit
Go find another job
You have no business pastoring
You don’t care for the flock
You have your own kingdom
Your fear of man is cursed
Repent and preach the Bible
Or get out of God’s church
I said repent and preach true gospel
or get out of God’s church
