tozer.jpg [God] is eternal which means that He antedates time and is wholly independent of it. Time began in Him and will end in Him. To it He pays no tribute and from it He suffers no change. He is immutable, which means that He has never changed and can never change in any smallest measure. To change He would need to go from better to worse or from worse to better. He cannot do either, for being perfect He cannot become more perfect, and if He were to become less perfect He would be less than God. He is omniscient, which means that He knows in one free and effortless act all matter, all spirit, all relationships, all events. He has no past and He has no future. He is, and none of the limiting and qualifying terms used of creatures can apply to Him.

Sola Scriptura (37)

bible-page.jpg And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
 – The Apostle Paul
Romans 1:28-32

Quotes (124)

washerpic.jpg You can judge a book by its cover according to Jesus Christ. And it is terrible–I have spent my life preaching around this country and I want to tell you something, it is terrible when the guest preacher has to walk in with his head down because he’s afraid that he will be caused to stumble by other believers.

– Paul Washer

Sola Scripture (36)

bible-page.jpg    I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be on the alert . . .

– The Apostle Luke

Acts 20:29-31

What’s your supreme authority for spiritual truth?

I found this poll over at Proclaiming the Gospel and thought that it would be a great poll to post here (with three of my own additions).

Which is your supreme authority for spiritual truth?

1). My experience and opinion.

2). My church and clergy.

3). My parents and family.

4). My heart.

5). What seems right to me.

6). Whatever works.

7). My Bible.

Of course, if your answer isn’t found here you can add it in your comments.

ryle.jpg   If you think the mere carrying of your body to a certain building, at certain times, on a certain day in the week, will make you a Christian and prepare you to meet God, I tell you flatly you are miserably deceived.

Joesph Smith explains the meaning of the word “Mormon.”

“The error I speak of, is the definition of the word “MORMON.” It has been stated that this word was derived from the Greek word mormo. This is not the case. There was no Greek or Latin upon the plates from which I, through the grace of God, translated the Book of Mormon . . . . I may safely say that the word Mormon stands independent of the learning and wisdom of this generation.—Before I give a definition, however, to the word, let me say that the Bible in its wildest sense, means good . . . . We say from the Saxon, good; the Dane, god; the Goth, goda; the German, gut; the Dutch, goed; the Latin, bonus; the Greek, kalos; the Hebrew, tob; and the Egyptian, mon. Hence, with the addition of more, or the contraction, mor, we have the word MORMON; which means, literally, more good.”  Joseph Smith, Times & Seasons, Volume 4, Page 194, 1843

Sermon of the week: “Recovering The Lost Doctrine of Repentance” by Russ Sukhia.

Russ SukhiaThis week’s sermon is entitled Recovering The Lost Doctrine of Repentance by Russ Sukhia. This is another great message (39 minutes in duration) that you’ll want to add to your collection.

yahannan.jpg How far we have drifted from the faith of the apostles and the prophets! What a tragedy when the techniques of the world and its agents are brought into the sanctuary of God. Only when we are emptied of our own self-sufficiency can God use us.

– K.P. Yohannan
