Thanks to Independent Conservative for this video. Apparently Benny Hinn is still preaching the false prosperity gospel.
Sorry Mr. Robertson, but after all the years of building your CBN empire on Christian morals and fighting against the social ills that Rudy Giuliani stands for, you in one fell swoop unraveled all those years of work.
You have also shown that not not only was all your railing against homosexuality and abortion conditional (and political), but that actions truly do speak louder than words.
Thank you Mr. Robertson for your compromise. You’ve set an incredible example. When our evangelical “leaders” are so quick to compromise do we still have to wonder why the current state of the church is in shambles?
A while back Old Truth posted a fantastic comparison between the pastors of old and the new generation of hip and relevant pastors of today. It is a very telling read. Check it out by clicking here.
This video is a prime example of what’s wrong with Churchianity today. Instead of teaching our youth from the Bible, this Associate Children’s Pastor felt he needed to create a video to teach the youth to “do the right thing even if it is tough” (Christ-less morality never lasts). I guess God’s Word just isn’t sufficient anymore. Well thank goodness for this Pastor. How else would we be able to reach the youth with the message of sin, judgment, God’s love, redemption, and salvation if it were not for videos like this?
Especially relevant is the comment at the end: “You rock God!!” That’s sure to draw all youth unto Christ because God “rocks” and if He “rocks” then that means He’s cool and if He’s cool then kids will want to repent and turn from their sin, trusting completely and fully in the Savior. . . right?

You’ve seen the shameful commercial on my previous post from City Church. Now check out this video and tell me what the point of this commercial is:
One thing that all lukewarm Christians have in common is their belief that there’s no need for works because grace is enough. They’re partly correct about grace being sufficient; no man can be saved by his own effort. We are saved by faith alone (Sola Fide) by God’s grace alone (Sola Gratia).
However, many people who fill churches today are only Professing Christians (PCs). They use the “grace card” as a license to behave however they see fit, not how God requires His children to live. (Subsequently they pull out the “judge not” card whenever their lifestyle is challenged in light of Scripture, but I’ll save that for another post).
They perform very little works (if any), and they bare no fruit in their lives as evidence of the faith they claim to follow. They simply feel church attendance is the end-all of Christianity. I say, don’t tell me you’re a Christian, show me! So many PCs today can be summed up like this: I go to church because I’m a Christian. I’m a Christian because I go to Church.
Furthermore, in many instances, their lifestyle betrays the lack of depth of their faith. There is no holiness; no separation from the world. Usually you can’t tell the difference between the average Christian and the unregenerate sinner.
The Bible that says, “Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead being by itself” (James 2:17). It is also clear that we should be “doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves” (James 1:22). If this wasn’t so, we would not have been told what pure religion is in God’s sight: “To visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world” (James 1:27).
Remember, Jesus told us that IF you love Him you’ll keep His commandments (John 14:15). That was not a suggestion but a means by which to measure ourselves to see if we are truly in the faith.

Thanks to Independent Conservative for this video. Let the brainwashing begin!
Although a great competing candidate, I still think Robert Tilton takes the false prosperity gospel pimp-of-the-year award based on this commercial of his.
Rick Warren is back for yet another Global Summit on AIDS and the Church. Speakers include the vice president of World Vision and the president and CEO of Compassion International (two organizations apparently more concerned with the social gospel than saving souls). If you want to see a complete list of those who will be speaking at this conference, click here.
And why just distract the adults form the Great Commission? This conference will also target the youth. Rick Warren has even packaged a nice little video to address the youth and their parents.
For those of you who would like to know more of what this AIDS conference is really all about, I highly encourage you to check out this episode of Cross Talk from last year’s AIDS conference: Saddleback AIDS Conference. It is very, very enlightening.
If you want to know the truth about the current condition of world missions, I highly recommend you read this book. It will help you to better understand the damage caused by the social gospel as it spreads like a cancer from America to the countries who desperately need the true Gospel. You can get the book for free by clicking here.

By no means does this blog have any intentions of getting involved in politics with the exception of when politics and religion become so intertwined in some cases, that I feel a certain event needs to be addressed. This is such a case.
Pat Robertson of 700 Club fame has officially endorsed Rudy Giuliani for president. Click here to read Robertson’s endorsement and click here to read the news article.
I have two questions: First, why in the world are Christians getting involved with this kind of stuff? Second, why is Robertson endorsing Giuliani?
Let’s take a quick look at the man Pat Robertson is endorsing as president of the United States of America:
In this post you will see videos from three prominent men of the Christian faith and one Catholic. Each one is interviewed by Larry King and each one is given an incredible opportunity to share the true Gospel of Jesus Christ with millions of viewers; an opportunity of the like that the Apostle Paul never had.
I present the following short video clips for your examination. Please view each and every one of them before coming to a conclusion. When you’re done, I’d like to hear from you.
Of these four men (preferences and preconceived notions aside), which one best presented the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and which one would you rather sit under as your pastor?

I saw something recently that I wanted to share. I was out of town and came across TBN and another TBN-like “Christian” channel called Inspiration on the TV in the hotel. I found myself mesmerized, switching back and forth between the two. My wife asked why I was bothering watching this, but it was like watching a train wreck. You don’t want to look, but you can’t help it.
On this particular channel they were having a Camp Meeting Telethon (a fund-raiser . . . imagine that!) and even TD Jakes was pimping for dollars. Then came Mike Murdock. What this purveyor of the prosperity gospel said caused me to reach for my pad and pen to take note.
Mr. Murdock told the audience (and those watching from home) that he prayed for three blessing for us. (Gee, thanks for caring so much about us, Mike). They sounded more like magic genie wishes to me. Are you ready for this?
1). That every blessing he gets you get too. He called this the Prayer of Boaz.
2). That you can own your home debt free. Not just any old small home but a huge mansion of a home. During this same broadcast he boasted about how big his home was.
3). That God will put people in your lives that you can “get something from.” Wow, using people for our benefit has never felt so spiritual. But doesn’t the Bible warn against this?
With all this garbage that spewed out of his mouth, the “audience” just clapped and applauded and nodded in approval. I grieve for them. They are so deceived because they are so ignorant of the Scriptures.
FourPointer recently posted an article on Mr. Murdock. You can see it here.
I’m not entirely sure who this guy is, but one thing is for sure: His behavior does far more to hurt the Gospel of Christ than to help it. Perhaps with a few more years experience, honing his skills, he can be good enough to preach on TBN.
There are so many things wrong about this video that I’m unable to determine which is the worst affront to the Christian faith, but here’s a list of the seven things that made me sick to my stomach.
1). Carl’s acting fit for a VJ on MTV.
2) Carl’s shameless plug that City Church is so cool that if you come you might get a wife as hot as the pastor’s.
3). Carl’s agreement that most of the time church “sucks.”
4). Carl listing the attributes of pastor Kent: He’s good looking, he can play ball, and his wife is way too hot for him to have. (Is there something missing from that list of what people should look for in a shepherd)?
5). Carl’s claim that if you come to this church a miracle could happen and that miracle is that you too can find a [hot] wife like pastor Kent’s.
6). Carl ending his drivel with “Peace in the Middle East.”
7) Carl’s lowcut Rico Suave shirt.
Perhaps the one thing that nauseates me the most about this is how shameless their pandering to the world is. They stop just shy of getting on their kness and begging people to like them. “Hey, we’re as cool and hip as you, we don’t suck like those churches that believe in holiness and stuff, we’re so much like the world that you can’t tell us apart from the world. Now will you come to our church?“
Have you ever notived how all these cool, hip, and oh so relevant churches mimic each other? They’re like clones! Well, Crosspoint Community Church has decided to copy the “All In” gambling theme.
Readers of this blog will recall that this has already been done by another church as reported in this post. And at least that church had an Elvis impersonator.
I have two questions: I must have missed the memo, but when did gambling become acceptable? And when did it become acceptable to glorify a sin for the expressed purpose of entertaining attracting the bored masses?
I know I’ll take a lot of heat for this one, but perhaps the young evangelicals in this video should be spending more time evangelizing the lost than worrying about the environment.
Here’s three reasons why:
1. Christians were never commanded to save the environment of the planet; we were commanded to save the people of the planet. (Matthew 28:18-20).
2. We know how it all ends. God showed us a glimpse in the book of Revelation. Your time would be much better spent on sharing the Gospel with those perishing (see number 1).
3. The human soul is more valuable to God than a forest. (No one burning forever in Hell is going to care how many spotted owls you saved).
Professing to be wise they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures . . . For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator…
The Bloodtipped Spears blog posted this interesting article on how to grow your church. This was taken from actual notes from a conference on church growth. It is a sad commentary on the state of the modern Church.
Does your pastor sound more like a comedian than a shepherd of God’s Church?
Well you’re not alone. Check out this post from Old Truth.
