Would that we could see the wall of separation between the church and the world made broader and stronger. It makes one sad to hear Christians saying, “Well, there is no harm in this; there is no harm in that”, thus getting as near to the world as possible. Grace is at a low ebb in that soul which can even raise the question of how far it may go in worldly conformity.
– C.H. Spurgeon
1834 – 1892
I’m working through a study/discussion of the book linked to below, with a small group of guys from different churches. My, how comfortable with the world we tend to grow!
God’s children need to be warned, rebuked, and encouraged to look to Christ and see the world for what it is – His enemy. There is no Demilitarized Zone in this war. Too often, we enter the enemy’s camp and convince ourselves we are home.
We are to consider ourselves aliens and pilgrims in this present world and not make ourselves at home.
Praise God for faithful men who sound the warning!

Manfred:
You may very well be interested in the sermon from Pastor Borgman that I posted in April entitled Conquest and Compromise. I think it’d be the perfect accent to your Bible study. You can find it by going to this post to download it.
Sincerely,
