Longing for the preachers of old.

Be prepared to witness one of the most pointless, narcissistic, self-centered, and shallow preaching testimony drivel in just under six minutes that you’ll ever subject your senses to.

This monologue is completely devoid of any reference to Jesus Christ and not supported by even one shred of Scripture, but it fits perfectly in today’s mile-wide, inch-deep church of “entertain me.”

After watching this video you will long even that much more for the preachers of old.

For some background and to better understand the foolishness that she’s talking about, see this post, this post and this post.

  1. Oh, no! More of this stuff! It is so sad that young people are being led astray by this false teaching. This young lady breaks my heart. She is sincere, but sincerely deceived. The true Holy Spirit would not make you feel “drunk”! Imagine her getting ‘drunk’ at work? What a confusing message to the unsaved. Come to Christ so you can get whacked out. “Whack ’em real good, Lord”. At least she did say that we should seek holiness, but I doubt that is what these poor misguided folks really seek. They seek an experience, a constant high.

  2. This ‘movement’ has a dangerously false view of man. Scripture nowhere teaches that if people could only see Christians drunk that they would turn to Christ. In fact, Scripture teaches the opposite; that we are dead in our trespasses and sins (Eph. 2). It is not until God graciously intervenes that we have any desire for Him and His ways. Left to our own devices we would continue to rebel against God, and invent all manner of false idols to worship.

This video is a perfect illustration of what occurs when those claiming to be followers of Christ cease “preach[ing] the Word” (2 Tim. 4:2).

It is truly sad that this ‘movement’ is continuing to grow and influence people.

  3. Yeah, I’m signing up for that! No wonder this young is confused – she’s been listening to false teachers. “When you’re high on the Holy Ghost the world will see it and want it.” Let’s confer with what God said and see how it stacks up to what Rodney Howard Brown and the other “tokers” say: “And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”

  4. The problem is that they don’t understand what true holiness really is! They hear the word ‘holiness’ and think that it’s something they have when they get ‘whacked’ and ‘drunk’. I believe they have a totally different meaning for ‘holiness’. When I was growing up, I had a step-grandmother that went to a ‘holiness’ church and I never saw anything at that church that showed forth true holiness. I did see people running around and acting pretty foolish as well as being chaotic within the church.
