The epitome of a Mormon testimony.

This post is not intended to be insulting or demeaning, but is a glimpse into why it is so difficult to convince a Mormon to review the facts about Mormonism from a reasonable standpoint and apply logic to come to a conclusion.

As you will see from these two brief videos, a Mormon testimony usually requires no logic, evidence, or even cognitive reasoning; just feelings. This is why oftentimes the debate with a Mormon dissolves into, “I bear you my testimony . . . ” and “I know, because I know, because I know.

Their regurgitating of this indoctrinated mantra I bear you my testimony” is frequently employed when presented with the evidence that Mormonism is a false religion. This type of “testimony” reveals that their whole basis for belief is grounded on emotion and feelings at the exclusion of fact, reason, and logic.

  1. That woman claims to not have been in touch with her emotions before? Why would anyone believe anything she says? 🙂

On the other hand, she sounds JUST LIKE Glen Beck on his slide into the pit known as the latter day saints. It’s all about feelings! No wonder the Bible is not enough – as the aspotle Peter tells the saints of the living God: “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”

He “forgot” to tell us to feel our way to steadfastness in Christ. Him being the first pope and all – ya think he woulda put that in there!

  2. I had to go back to the beginning of the clip after the young man started talking about “warm fuzzy feelings” and “what he FELT” and “what he believed because of what he had experienced.”

I wanted to make sure that he wasn’t a member or an attender at Rick Warren’s church or Joel Osteen. Sounded an awful lot like the same kind of drivel that proceeds from the mouths of those who “KNOW” what they feel and DON’T confuse them with the facts!

  3. I also agree with The Desert Pastor and Nathan Bingham. As I was watching these two clips, my first impression was that this stuff sounds just like so much drivel I hear almost every day from, presumably, orthodox Christians, but whose feelings trump facts.

And they always support their beliefs with the misuse of the word, “faith.”

Thank God for a “know so faith” based on evidence.

  4. Wow! Amazing how Satan can so confuse the truth of God’s Word in such a way that all the religions can begin to sound the same. I’ve also heard many people say, “I had that warm feeling come over me!” I know our emotions can confuse us and we can be led to believe we are doing what is right when the reality is that if it is contrary to Scripture we are WRONG!
