When hirelings attack.

  1. I have often wondered how some get into the ministry…my personal conviction is that many – many – in the ministry today should sell used cars.

  2. Perry “I’m dead serious” Noble is anything but a pastor. This man is void of true love for his flock, and the words he spews seem very acceptable to the congregation. That tells us one thing… He has “programmed” the sheeple into thinking that this is acceptable.

He has the best job in the world, speak a couple times a week (he must take no more than half an hour to prepare his messages) and the rest of his time is spent doing… what I wonder…

  3. On the upside… at least he is being honest with his congregation. Too many “pastors” pose as actual pastors, but are really just some combination of serial guest speaker/corporate CEO.

At least his congregation has seen this juvenile temper tantrum and has informed consent. Those that continue to follow him have been given notice that he will not shepherd them.

  4. I’ve seen Perry a number of times in other sermons and I will say that the man has a passion for the lost. It’s just a misguided passion. He reminds me of that other young pastor from a church I believe is called “Elevate” that stood up and basically informed his congregation that church is not for believers but unbelievers. He flat out told everyone that if they wanted doctrine, teaching or discipleship they might as well go elsewhere. Very sad.

It’s interesting that this video seems to be the typical type of position of most of the young pastors in postmodern churches today. It’s scary to think that this is what seminaries are pumping out these days but it is reality. Youth is not the issue here. Let us all read about people like John Calvin who in his twenties began pastoring and writing theological masterpieces.

I do not know Perry’s heart – only God knows. But I do see the lack of fruit being shown. The anger in this man’s face and the tone that he commonly uses in his sermons alone demonstrates a lack of patience and understanding. What is really scary is that there was not a mass exodus from his church that day. The people just sat there taking all this and apparently could care less. That says a lot about the state of the members of his church.

We all have a tendency to love to display people like this and call them “goat herders”, etc. Let us all be broken hearted over the state of the church and the people who flock to these churches that do not follow the Biblical mandates of what the Church of Christ really is. We should be crushed over these souls and have a zeal not only to expose error but to pray for and offer guidance in love to those in gross error like Mr. Nobles. These are real people who may very well hear, “get away from Me I never knew you.”

  5. I want to say up front that I do not agree with everything that Perry Noble says. But you need to listen to the whole message to understand his point, which is right on. Too many pastors, and I’ve seen it up close, make the church their mistress. Too many pastors try to work harder and not smarter. If you aren’t being efficent, you aren’t being effective. Perry has a passion for reaching people with the message of Jesus, that we need to repent of our sins and trust in Jesus Christ. Pastors are not called to attend to the whim of every congregant. We are called to feed the sheep, yes. But we are also called to make disciples and that involves delegating tasks to other people. My job as a pastor is not to be popular, but to point people to Jesus. I can’t do that when my marriage or my family is falling apart because I go out visiting or I make too many appointments. According to the NT, it is the whole church who is to do the work of the ministry.
We don’t all have the same methods. We don’t all have the same views on less important issues of doctrine, and thats not going to keep me up at night. But in love, it sometimes bothers me how much time we spend condemning people preaching the same Jesus. I saw no massive error here, like I would see in cults. I did not see anything that would lead me the conclusion this man does not know Jesus. Again, I don’t know his heart, but neither does anyone here. I wonder, can we all say we have no sin? I am all about pointing out the false teachers, but I am not arrogant enough to think that I am the only one right. If we agree and practice the fundemental doctrines of the Christian faith, we are not the enemy. We should focus our energies on winning the lost and on defeating reall enemies, not imagined ones.
    God Bless,
    Adam

  6. Adam,

I’m glad I’m not in your ‘church’.

I don’t need a hireling as my Pastor.

Thank you for being honest enough to show your colors…

I agree that some pastors might go too far and not spend time with their family, and there are always people who want you around all the time cause they think the whole world revolves around them== but do you maybe think you have gone to far the other way. Do you think it is right the way PN and others like him speak down to their flock. eg steve furtick. I wouldn’t go to a church where heirlings are pastors. Did you count the cost before you became a pastor. No we do not all preach the same Jesus, the Jesus worshipped in many churches is not the Lord Jesus Christ from the Bible. He in no way resembles Him.

  8. To those who mentioned seminary:

Perry Noble has no seminary experience or training. It is quite “common” knowledge that seminary is referred to as “cemetary” among the newspring pastoral group.
