Raise your hand.

Ingrid Schlueter has given three cheers to the Catholics for their valiant fight against the billion dollar baby butcher business (while evangelicals are becoming increasingly silent on the issue of abortion).

I too would like to chime in on this issue: I wholeheartedly disagree with the soul-damning false gospel of the Roman Catholic institution, but I have to ask why they continue to fight for the unborn while evangelicals have fallen silent? I believe part of it is that Roman Catholicism is a works-based false religion and thus, its adherents must strive to win God’s favor by their works and what’s more “favorable” to God than protecting the unborn? I believe that the problem on the other side of the coin is that many evangelicals have become so relevant and accommodating to the world that they’ve absorbed the world’s standards, morals, wisdom, and ways and can no longer be distinguished from the world.

As the Catholics continue to take a stand against this murderous rampage perpetrated upon the most defenseless class in our society, many evangelicals have begun to support the shedding of innocent blood by their collective silence and some even voted for our current pro-abortion commander in chief. By abandoning the fight for life, evangelicals actually lend support to the heinous act of abortion.

The church that remains silent on the issue is no better than those whose murderous ways are furthered by such silence.

  1. Most Evangelicals I know believe aborted babies go to Heaven. I’m not certain but I think Catholics believe they go to purgatory. That might have something to do with it.

  2. Many interesting thoughts you project… Would like to add a short clarification to the “catholic” observations, both in your nicely written blog and too the responce of Tenerife…

Catholics DO BELIEVE that the soul/spirit of the murdered Humans via abortion, “go to” Heaven from whence they came .. not purgatory.

Simply because these individuals have had NO opertunity to excercise their God Given Free Will (awakened at the age of reason, an earthly age they never reached) to make the Spiritual choices most of us make. (and often have “venial” flaws as the residue even at the natural end of that life, which is touching on the Doctrine of Purgatory oversimplified) Therefor there is nothing to keep them (the murdered Ones) from a “direct path” to their Eternal Bliss.
The question of the nature of that Bliss for those Souls that have had their Life taken from them can only be answered by God.
Until that point in Eternity in which that answer is known, it is all only attempted to be explained in terms that the earthly flock of believers can understand in the effort to cause the flock to never fall prey to the temptations which lead to such a fatal sin as murdering someone via aboriton…

In that “explaining” (around 30years ago) an answer of “Limbo” was given. (mostly to persons that would ask a Priest if the Baby they had recently killed went to Hell or “is suffering” or some similar question ) Me thinks this was done so as to NEVER give the impression or encourage people into “mercy killing” or allow political groups to say “The Catholic Church says these clumps of tissue are going to heaven so what are they complaining about?”…
This early answer was in the effort to assure the now murderer that their victim (child) is in the Loving Care of Our Heavenly Father AND that via the Redemptive Life and Resurrection of Our Savior Jesus even THEY (the now murderous and guilt laiden parent) will be and are forgiven this most hidious of sins, by turning their newly contrite heart to Jesus for the Grace needed to accept His expiation.
Now days most Priests will simply say …. “The Child is in Heaven”, and stress that we all MUST Trust in Gods Forgiveness, Mercy, and LOVE.
(Bear in mind that the Roman Catholic Church DOES NOT make rules and guidlines for just the United States, but instead must attempt to be ‘politically correct” in all nations where their 1 billion plus membership lives and attempts to allow the individual members to be loyal to God and country. Given the immorality of most societies of the world today it is a miracle THAT CHRUCH can still have members like Mother Theresa of Calcutta be a product of its’ teachings from time to time)

On the subject of “Works” … it is understandable how a non-Catholic, precieves Catholics as a works based group of fools.. Although the heart of the teaching is more to the point that:

IF one has a lively Faith..(born of Humility).THAT has lead to Grace…. All three of which can only come from The Triune God of LOVE … THEN “Works” are the natural produce of a cared for Spiritual Garden …(from reading some of your other writings it would seem you know this)
(All of the Dogma and Doctrine of The Chruch are geared to lead the individuals to THAT GOAL)

We do believe that if any one of these “ingredents” is absent from ,or in small measure, within the Temple of the Human Person, the individual is falling short of their greatest Good..

These (often soul damning) “shortcomings” are firstly seen by God, then by the individual, and (usually) soon thereafter become evident to fellowmen. ALL OF WHICH makes the acquision of, caretaking of, and putting into pratice of, these God Given Virtues (leading to Good Works) a lifetime series of events, starting at Conception and not ending but instead changing, at the time of Natural Death ….(oooh sure now “the communion of the Saints” thing) <:)
In short: Works without Faith, guided by Grace, are empty and a waste of “time” on earth, as well as, Faith without Works is a sure sign of a dead faith.

My apoligy for bad spelling and NOT BEING ABLE to make it short … really did try …
May the Lord of LOVE Bless You This Day and Always..
Fight the Good Fight and have a nice life

  3. Dear Pilgrim:
Thank you for the direction to the enllightened writings of “parts 1-5” …
Part 4 is most accurate to describe a “C”atholic way of being a member of the Family of THE continous cycle of Love that was, is, and always will be the nature of The Triune God.

While, this old man, does not agree with a few of your “interpetations” of (or personal comments concerning) certain Verses of Scripture. It is understood that even those interpetations are sincerely brought forth in the Spirit of Love, and are meant to promote or propagate That Love.

To qoute a person of Wisdom that has already put it very well, and did so, without using the word “Humility” shows that it is that very foundation virtue (itself accepted as a Gift and put to good use) which is quite apparently leading that person to a Life of Eternal Bliss..

    AS FOLLOWS:

“We are save by faith alone and the proof of that salvation is the works that God does in is (me thinks this “is”was a typo of “us”) and that we perform because we are now new creatures. I strive daily to do good works and follow His commands not because by doing so I can earn salvation, but because I love Him.” (end of quote)

It saddens the heart of this old man when “Works” is capitalized, (in writing or speech) as though “IT” is something special….
God gives us His Love, to share with others, this privilege (of Family) is enough for all mankind to ponder (and put their Faith in) for each persons allotted 100 years or so..
Although without God Given Humility of Heart, 10,000 years would not be enough to experience feable words or works of a prideful faith, turning into anything of Eternal Value.

Enough preaching to the Choir…. In the future it will be attempted to not blog up your blogs with “comments” and “responses”, but instead will enjoy the reading and pondering and prayer they invoke….

Praise be to God for writers like you Pilgrim… Keep up the Good work… (chortle) had to look up the word “brevity”

  4. Dear rosaryoncd:

    Thanks for your comment.

One of the biggest glaring differences between Christianity and Roman Catholicism is in regards to salvation. Paul warns us in Galatians 1:6-9 about anyone who preaches “another gospel” even if that person be an angel from Heaven.

Roman Catholicism teaches a works-based salvation (another gospel). The RC version of salvation says good works and adherence to the law are required for salvation, whereas Christianity stands with the Bible in saying that it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

As a Christian who reads the Bible I understand that works and the following of the law are the fruits of salvation, not the roots of salvation.

Anytime anyone says that we are saved by Jesus Christ and . . . __________ (fill in the blank) then that is another gospel.

Jesus became the propitiation for our sins. God bought His Church with His own Blood (Acts 20:28). If you think you can add to that precious priceless Blood, then I have to ask you, what was the true worth of that Blood? If you still have to add to that sacrifice, then what is God’s Blood really worth?

It is such a relief to know that salvation is not contingent upon me, but on Christ alone! If you ever come to that liberating, life-giving, revelation, you too can proclaim with a joyous resound: Sola Fide! On faith alone I stand. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.,

    Sincerely,
    – The Pilgrim
