A Christian not yielded to the Spirit does not manifest the Christ-life. The Spirit of God has to permeate a life if that life is to radiate Him. We cannot do anything apart from being filled with the Spirit.
I have a glove. If I say to the glove, “Play the piano”, what does the glove do? Nothing. The glove cannot play the piano. But if I put my hand in the glove and play the piano, what happens? Music! If I put my hand in a glove, and glove moves. The glove does not get pious and say, “Oh hand, show me the way to go.” It does not say anything; it just goes. Spirit-filled people do not stumble and mumble around trying to find out what God wants. They just go!

This analogy with hand in glove is not how the Spirit and the believer interact.
It is more like a father walking with his son, guiding him along the way, holding his hand while he is still young,
then by simply walking along side,the father telling the son the wisdom that he needs to go thru life, the son looking unto the father, listening,-Prov4:1- obeying, making decisions as the father leads, and gives instuction.
We are not robots, but we are His children walking in the
the way which He has shown us, Micah6:8.

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;” (Ephesians 5:1). Have you ever seen a little boy with a toy lawnmower, following closely behind as his father uses the real thing a few steps ahead? Or a little girl using a pretend steering wheel in the passenger seat of a car, as her mother drives down the road? It’s just a simple fact of life that children like to imitate their parents.
If you have been brought to repentance and redemption by the sovereign grace of God, then you have a “spiritual Father” that should be even more important to you than an earthly parent is to his or her child. In like manner, you should desire to walk after, and to imitate, your Heavenly Father. “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” (Ephesians 5:2)
God is love. (I John 4:8) For a Christian, born into the family of God, and therefore being a partaker of God’s divine nature (II Peter 1:4), to not be loving is to fail to be an imitator or a follower of our Father. It has been well said that, in the New Covenant, love is not SOMEthing – love is THE thing.
