I have mucho love and respect for brother Randall. I’ve stopped the tape at 17:51 to comment on one thing: Randall declares that a man must be called by God to the office of pastor, that a man who “clamors” for the office is a fool. 1 Tim 3:1 says that the man who desires the office of an elder desires a good thing. I see that clearly in Scripture – I do not see in Scripture anything that squares with Randall’s assertion that a man must be called to the office. Perhaps this is on the same order of the Ordo Solutis wherein God calls man to life before man believes. We do know, from Ephesians 4 that God gives elders to the church – but the Word doesn’t tell us how He does that. I am merely resistant to the idea that extra-biblical calls exist – how would a young man who desires to serve the Lord as a pastor know he’s called? I’ve heard older elders say, “You just know”. Rubbish! If a man desires to serve as a pastor and does so honorably – he’s been “called” to the office; he will know because there will be fruit in his labors – just as there in Randall’s.
Now I will finish the message 🙂

What a wonderful message of God’s Truthful declaration – that God will be glorified by His saints and will sustain and carry them. Good encouragement to stay focused on the One Who bought us, holds us, protects us, works in us. Whets my appetite for more good preaching of the Word of God.

The message is a wonderful reminder to saints of the living God to keep our focus Christ, trusting Him to save us, hold us, work in us, all for the glory of the Lord. Whets my appetite for more good preaching. Many thanks!

I don’t want to rate sermons but this one was just ok for me.
A little more on style than of substance at times but overall it was fine. 🙂 But that’s my two cents.
