As the Lord loves truth (indeed refers to Himself as The Truth), and absolutely hates lies and error, how can His children have any other attitude? This basic mindset saturates the true child of God. If I am a follower of Christ, or think I am, it is imperative that I test what I believe, or what is preached, according to the whole counsel of the word of God.
