The devil is not fighting religion. He is too smart for that. He is producing a counterfeit Christianity so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it.
Amen. Satan is VERY much behind religion (spiritual belief systems), and heavily supports it. Any religion EXCEPT the one true religion: faith in the Christ of the Bible and living in obedience to the Word. And what better way to lead astray than to present a counterfeit that looks, sounds, and feels so much like the true, even using profuse Scriptural “support”, that sometimes you can’t tell the difference, except by the God-given gift of discernment.
Important statement here: “…good Christians are afraid to speak out against it.” That’s part of Satan’s trick too: silence any exposure of his deceit. “I might sound like a Pharisee”. “I know what I believe, but I’m not smart enough to defend it successfully, so I’ll just keep quiet”. “If I speak out, they’ll talk circles around me, and I’ll look like a fool”. “If I speak out against the counterfeit, people might take it wrong and think I’m speaking against the truth”. “It’s just too much of a hassle to get into”, etc.
This is awesome!
And very true, and sad.
Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
