Book recommendation: “Escape from the World Trade Center” by Leslie Haskin.

I fully understand that this will be a very controversial post (perhaps the most controversial post in DefCon’s history) and I’ve even been reluctant to post it (opting to leave it sitting in pending drafts for quite awhile). But even if it causes some to cease their readership of this blog, the truth needs to be told.

For almost a year now I’ve been revisiting the events of 9/11/01, without prejudice or preconceived notions, and I have come away shocked with what I have discovered. The more I look into the events of that day the more I am convinced that we have not been told everything about what occurred on that September morning almost eleven years ago.

So when this short book written by  professing Christian Leslie Haskin (detailing her escape from one of the three WTC towers that fell on September 11, 2001) became available for free on Kindle (from the longer book Between Heaven and Ground Zero), I download it. I was curious to read a survivor’s account of that day to see if it corroborated more with the government’s official version of the events of that day, or instead, with that of the mounting evidence pointing to a conspiracy of the magnitude never before seen in this country.

In this book, Haskin tells of her upbringing in a Christian home, her eventual turning from the faith, and how the events of September 11, 2001 brought her back to her faith in God. Haskin has written a few other books and she’s been a guest speaker around the country (and has even appeared on The 700 Club). But it was the details of her escape from WTC Tower One that I was most interested in and she did not fail to deliver. What I read in her account contradicts the official version of what happened on that day, and corroborates the evidence pointed to by conspiracy theorist’s (term not used pejoratively) to prove that not everything we’ve been told to believe about 9/11 is true.

As for the book itself, I found that the placement of Scripture throughout it seemed to be sporadic and random and it became somewhat distracting. Oftentimes the verses cited were completely out of context with the storyline. I also did not find the writing to be as polished as it could have been, as the jumping back and forth between 9/11 and other events in her past didn’t flow well to me and seemed somewhat disjointed. And the overuse of ellipses was very taxing, offering an unprofessional appearance and tone to her writing.

I also wouldn’t recommend this book on the grounds of theological meatiness as it is weak on doctrinal distinctions. I understand that this book is not meant to be a theological tome, but with the profuse employment of Scripture throughout it I would have hoped for a little more solidness in the biblical message she was trying to convey, instead of the man-centered, Hallmark card flavor it carried.

You can read more reviews of the book here where others had similar criticisms about the book.

But in spite of my above cited dissatisfaction, I still highly recommend this book because of the valuable information contained within it as the author details the things she saw, smelled, heard, and felt during her escape from the terror in her tower; things that should cause every American to ask questions without fear of being marginalized with ad hominen attacks pejorative labels like “crazy conspiracy theorists.”

So what is it in Haskin’s book that contradicts the official governmental 9/11 conspiracy theory and instead supports an alternative 9/11 conspiracy theory?

First you need to know the official story (the government’s conspiracy theory) regarding the collapse of the Twin Towers, and then the alternate theories, in order to better understand the weight of Haskin’s testimony.

The offical conspiracy theory: According to what we’re told, the jet fuel from the two airplanes that crashed into the upper portions of the Twin Towers burned so hot that it compromised/melted the steel structure on those floors which eventually led to both towers collapsing in similar pancake fashion from the top down. This, of course, does not explain why the third tower (WTC 7) collapsed at 5:20 pm on the evening of 9/11 in spite of the fact that it was never struck by an airplane, nor did it have jet fuel accelerant to feed its fires (which was to blame for the collapse of the other two towers).

The alternate conspiracy theory: Based on a plethora of eyewitness testimonies, survivor testimonies, news reporters on scene at Ground Zero, video captured by numerous sources, etcetera, there was an explosion immediately preceding the impact of the first plane in WTC 1 that emanated from deep in the bowels of the building, described by witnesses to have come from the basement. Then, after the first plane hit, more explosions took place throughout the building, including other areas well below the area of impact, including the lobby.

If, as the offcial conspiracy theory suggests, the towers were brought down by the remaining jet fuel that was somehow not consumed in the enormous fireball upon impact, and there were no explosives in lower portions of the buildings, then there should have been absolutely no explosions, felt, seen, or heard in the lower portions of the towers. However, as noted, numerous witnesses contradict the official account, and one of those, whether she realizes it or not, is Leslie Haskins.

Haskins was working on the 36th floor of WTC Tower One on that morning, well below the impact area that affected floors 92 to 98, yet the following accounts from her book details things that, if the government’s conspiracy theory were true, she should have never seen as she attempted to escape the building by descending the stairwell away from  (not ascending toward) the impact site almost sixty stories above.

Please consider the following quotes from the book. (Page numbers are not included as the following quotes are taken from the e-book version.)

“Large bangs resonated from the north side of the office. Each time they were so sudden and so random that I nearly jumped out of my skin.”

“The smoke got thicker, and people were just running to get away. The explosions were so loud and so threatening.”

Why were there numerous random “bangs” and “explosions” heard? Why was there smoke where the author was on the 36th floor nowhere near the impact zone? What were people “running to get away from on those lower floors?

Next Leslie Haskins describes a scene that she observed in her office on the 36th floor:

“The windows were shaking, and glass exploded from everywhere. Those gorgeous natural wood-grained desks, chairs, and symbols of status went right out the window, literally. They violently and in succession freed themselves through our once sealed and privileged views.”

The plane’s impact 90 stories high caused glass to explode and furniture to be hurleonion the area of the 36th floor?

Haskin then describes scenes and occurrences that she should not have experienced almost sixty floors below the impact zone unless there were explosions in, or near, the offices on the 36th floor:

“Hundreds of would-be evacuees were desperately searching for acceptable escape routes, digging holes through walls, racing through corridors, and transferring from one stairway to another to avoid the large holes where floors were missing or in flames. As we approached the central stairwell, the ceiling started to collapse into the reception area. An explosion forced fire through closed elevator doors with an angry swoosh . . . . I had never seen fire so angry.”  (Ellipses mine)

Eventually, Leslie Haskins, along with countless others, began descending the stairwell to get out of the building. As she was going down the stairs (increasing the distance between her and the impact zone of the airplane) she observed the following:

“We descended slowly and stopped at almost every landing to make room for others entering the stairs. Slower still we moved to the left or to the right to accommodate the injured or avoid large puddles and holes. At one point, there was a woman burned to the bone.”

The plane struck the building over 90 floors up, so why in the world are there injured people (including the burned woman) entering the stairwell from floors below Haskin’s offices that were located on the 36th floor?

The author continues her tale:

“A few flights down, I guess near the twenty-seventh floor, an Asian man positioned himself at the entrance of his office. He was clearly terrified, and he yelled for us to leave the stairs. He and his colleague ran back and forth from an open window to the stairs, as if measuring the degree of devastation from one place to the other. He yelled that he had heard of fires beneath us and that it was too dangerous to continue downward.”

Fires below the 27th floor? According to the offical story of what happened that day, that man surely had to be mistaken.

“As the minutes passed, the fumes became more intense. As we got closer to the bottom, my eyes burned more. Even with my lids shut.”

Then, there’s the following incredibly disturbing observation from the author. Please do not skim over this but read it very, very carefully. Remember, the plane struck the tower in floors 92 to 98. Here is the author’s horrifying description of what she saw on the twentieth floor, over seventy floors below the plane’s impact:

“I’m guessing that about the twentieth floor is where it happened. The heat was making me tired and I wanted to regroup. We stopped for a minute and someone opened another door. Unwittingly, I stuck my head in for cleaner air and there he was. A man stood staring. It was a cold and blank look. He said nothing; trapped behind what was once probably a wall, his stare mesmerized me. I remember it being a mindless gaze with complete shock occupying the part of his flesh where his face used to be. There was no fire or smoke near him. Just huge chunks of broken glass, mangled and exposed wires out of their places, furniture upside down, cables and pieces of the wall lay everywhere. Both large and small fragments of glass and other objects pierced the once perfectly papered walls. Crashes of more devastation howled from somewhere on that floor and the recognizable vociferous crackle of fire. I examined him closely from the stairs. His face . . . contorted like abstract art. His eyes . . . fixed on nothing. His mouth was wide and silent. His head rested between two small columns while his body was crooked and oddly twisted off to the side. He had been decapitated.”

How does an airline impact 70 stories above, cause not only the damage that Haskin observed to the room, but the decapitation of a human being in that room?

As Haskin continued descending the stairs (and would have been getting farther away from the chaos and destruction above if the official story was true), she experienced more explosions and screams:

“I’m not sure just when it happened, but somewhere around the ninth floor I noticed that the screams and the bangs, the explosions, and the grinding metal all blended into one constant and excruciating opus as panic escalated to pandemonium when the building suddenly rocked again.”

And more explosions affecting those in the stairwell:

“Explosions undoubtedly sealed more exits, trapped more people, and it became increasingly difficult to tell if we were still alive.”

“There was a small tremor. It lasted only a few seconds but I guess it caused the building to twist more because some doors that were previously open, slammed and jammed shut.”

Then as Haskin finally exited the stairs, she observed more damage:

“I believe I exited the stairs at the plaza level but barely recognized it. No more was the concourse aglow with life. There were no sounds of hurried feet, rustling newspapers, or laughter and morning gibberish. Its voice now was the crackle of fire and random explosions. From every angle, it was crushed and dying, slightly grayed from smoke, defeated, crumbling, and slaughtered by glass bullets of injustice.”

While in the plaza area, the author observed:

“People were running frantically trying to get away from the explosions and flames.”

Why in the world are people in the lower level plaza area running from explosions and fire? The official story is that there were no explosions in the building; that the fire from the jet fuel over 90 stories above is what caused the structure to fail from the top down, and collapse perfectly upon itself in almost free fall speed. But as you can see from Leslie Haskin’s testimony (like so many other eyewitnesses and survivors), explosions and fire were heard, felt, and seen all throughout the building, not just where the official report says the fires were.

With the damage supposedly solely occurring where the plane hit, Haskin should have never seen the following in the lower level plaza:

“A large mound of something charred lay near the elevators. A woman, I think, lay near it. A small amount of blood was near her neck area. Her legs splayed out awkwardly, and her eyes were shut, but not completely; they had rolled back as if she was unconscious. Her arm lay to her side and her chest rose and dropped rapidly.”

Nor should anyone be on fire:

“I saw small crowds hurrying toward the sky bridge that connected the World Trade Center to the Financial Towers. . . . I turned and saw a tall, thin man. At first, I didn’t recognize what he was doing, but I’ll never forget his eyes. They were hazel in color and full of panic. I realized he was on fire. His skin looked as if it was dissolving off his bones. Flames covered a large part of his body. He ran from the stairs and toward me. Another man was chasing him and hitting at him with his bare hands—trying to squelch the flames.” (Ellipses mine)

Because the author’s account contradicts the official story, some may suggest that Leslie Haskin is “lying” or was simply “mistaken.” I do not believe that and I would not be so quick to besmirch her character (nor what she endured) in such a flippant way. Hers is just one of a plethora of voices of witnesses and survivors that have told of their experiences on that day, and their testimonies (as well as the mounting tide of evidence) suggests something starkly different than the official story we’ve been told to believe.

“Condemnation before investigation is the height of ignorance.”

  1. I, too, have (for some time) questioned a lot of things that just don’t add up in all of the happenings. The sad thing is, we will never know the whole truth….so I do my best not to dwell on it. There are *a lot* of things that weren’t right on that day…but I don’t think we will ever come to the whole truth.
I *do* know, after watching tons of videos on it…that WTC 7 *was* pulled and that was not a secret. They said the fires and things were just too bad inside and it was easier to just pull the building down by imploding it. So that part of it all doesn’t bother me. There are sooo many things that *do* bother me…but I feel there is nothing we can do about it. 😦

  2. Katy, for WTC7 to be ” pulled” , it had to have been loaded with explosives prior, i’m no expert on this , but I do know this was not accomplished in a couple of hours , more like months of meticulous planning and excecution. This really should bother everyone because random buildings aren’t just loaded with random explosives by random people for no apparent reason. This was planned for a purpose…………… . I’m not a US citizen , and I do believe that the truth of this is easier to see from afar , I also believe that the PTB will stop at nothing to keep the official version of this going , because once the truth of what really happened is proven and accepted , it’s going to get ugly.
For what its worth , the government of my country committed troops to fight this ” perceived” war on terror , as did troops of many other countries, many of whom never made it home. For their sakes we should all be pressing for the truth until criminals are held accountable for their actions.

  3. The sad fact is that the average person doesn’t want to know the “real” truth in matters such as 9/11. When hundreds of eye witnesses, police/fireman, architects, engineers, etc all have accounts of what happened that contradict the official story then we “should” know we are not being told the truth. But wait.. that’s too scary. Don’t make me think of the implications of what it means that an event like this was thoroughly planned out. Who was involved, how high up the command chain did it go? And what would the motivation for such an attack do? Who would benefit from an attack on the US (beside all those that mysteriously shorted airline stocks the week before 9/11)? It’s not possible..people really couldn’t be that evil..especially in the USA, right? It’s a shame that the author of this blog felt so torn about putting this article up because of the “controversy” it may cause with the readers. Supposedly, educated, truth seeking, bible believing Christians would want to know the truth and could see things don’t add up, but it’s just too sensitive of a subject. Can’t we just live our lives and watch our sports, live the good life and worry about something else? It’s a shame people can’t discern the facts that a 3rd grader could see when it comes to the truth. I truly shudder at what it would take for people to wake up to the
evil that exists in this world.

  4. Not to throw water on your fire but I would point to some verses that seem to me are an ideal place to camp out in light of what you have laid out here about what is the truth of the matter about 9/11 officially and otherwise:

1Ti 1:3 As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine,
1Ti 1:4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith.
1Ti 1:5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
1Ti 1:6 Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion,
1Ti 1:7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.
1Ti 1:8 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully,
1Ti 1:9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,
1Ti 1:10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
1Ti 1:11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.

What I do know is a fact and spin about government/s and Scripture is God gives us guidance when it comes to understanding our role as Born Again Christians with regard to them. I would also suggest we focus on these realities from Scripture when contemplating where to go from here after reading this article:

Rom 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
Rom 13:2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,
Rom 13:4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.
Rom 13:5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
Rom 13:6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.

1Ti 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
1Ti 2:2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
1Ti 2:3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,
1Ti 2:4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

We are to be subject to governments even if they are corrupt to the core and we are to pray for the leaders of them so that we can enjoy a quiet and peaceful life in all dignity. I have had the privilege to see out from inside several governments over the last many years of serving the Lord. In fact, one of the members of my Church organization became the President of his own nation. I have visited Presidents and Prime Ministers in their country and here in the United States. I have been involved in negotiations with other governments on a number of occasions. I say that to say this that any “official” position a government gives publically has elements added to it and or not added so that a more civil and diplomatic outcome can come about. Is that a sin? Just don’t know about that. Reading the stories in the Bible and how some kings and other leaders have spinned things personally/officially or sent official words that led to the death of their loyal subjects or made alliances with other governments makes me convinced that there is nothing new under the sun and most likely the spin the United States put on the official story line of 9/11 is just that, a spin and an official story line with elements of truth and falsehoods in it.

Where do we go from here, those of us dedicated to seeing the Gospel of the Kingdom preached to every creature for a witness so the end will come about?

I leave off with this activity for those of us so inclined and dedicated to that end:::>

2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.
2Pe 3:11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,
2Pe 3:12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!
2Pe 3:13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

  5. I’m with Michael.
Are there other “testimonies” similar to Leslie Haskin’s? I’ve never heard anything like this before and I am not doubting her testimony. I do believe that our government, education system, etc., are full of all kinds of evil. But I do know that God allows certain things to happen that will cause us to turn to him. My faith is in Christ alone. Certainly not our government or military or banks.

  6. I agree Michael…we are to be submissive….and there have been terribly evil gov’ts over the past thousands of years that Jews and Christians have had to endure. God is absolutely sovereign and in control and I find such peace in that. If the govt *did* these acts….it’s just a depressing thought….but not much we can do but be aware and always prayerful.

  7. I worked for a world leading engineering consulting company (ARUP) that did an independent engineering assessment of the mechanism that the main WTC buildings collapsed. The fire, expansion due to heat and the collapse due to the columns supports at intermediate stories being unseated makes sense from an engineering viewpoint (forgive me if the fine details are wrong – it’s been years since I saw the internal presentation). I’m not sure what to make of the conflicting stories, but in terms of the engineering of how the WTC buildings came down, it is consistent with the “official” story.

I don’t believe that there are hundreds of independent consultants who also modelled the collapse and found it consistent with the reported facts were all bought off by “the man”.

  8. I began in the engineering/machine industry in 1962 and having worked with all types of steel, (pot metal to exotics) could never fully understand how the impact and fire on the upper stories could have possibly weakened the massive lower structure to the point of collapse – until now!!

Like most people, I listened to the news, gathered bits and pieces of information and drew my own conclusions as I watched the whole 911 era slowly fade away from the everyday headlines.
I may have to look deeper into “conspiracy theories” as this is extremely interesting and really great food for thought!!

  9. Pilgrim,

What! Are you some sort of wild eyed crazy conspiracy theorist! Just Kidding. This is very interesting information and as one who has watched many hours of youtube video footage of this event I must say that we’ve been duped. I have no idea what the truth is, but it isn’t what we’ve been told.

Interestingly, it is very sad that a book is labeled or referenced with “Christian” ties, yet is lame on the Biblical side. However, this seems to be the continual theme in our culture.

  10. Bruce:
If the accounts written in this book are true, then they explain, in my opinion, why the collapse occurred! I would be interested to review some engineering studies concerning the collapse and see how those involved came to their conclusions. The number of parameters required to come to a total and accurate understanding of structural failure in this instance are staggering!

  11. Hi Rev Limiter
Once the columns at the impact height buckled due to fire, it was a pancake collapse all the way down.
If you want to get some of the engineering reports of the day, register at (new civil engineer), search for wtc, and have a dig through the reports that were put out at the time. This is the publication of the insitute of civil engineers.

  12. Actually a friend of mine’s boyfriend was in the elevator at the plaza level when the first plane hit. And immediately the lobby was filled with dead bodies – and shoes. He ran with the others. You tell me why there were dead bodies 100 stories down… And also why there were no cabs on 9th Ave that morning.

  13. Michael,
We are to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Respecting authorities doesn’t mean blindly and no matter what! What about not returning evil for evil?If we are killing innocents in other countries in a bogus war on terror, believers should be concerned. What if the authorities told you to worship Baal?
There is a website called realpatriotsquestion911 with hundreds of engineers, physicists, military generals and officers ect.. that also know the official story is a fable. Jet fuel doesn’t melt steel, and the towers were built to withstand a plane crashing into them. There was molten steel on the site for many days! Thermite was found on the site but was omitted from the official lies like the explosions that many witnesses and even the news reported for the first moments.
True believers love the Truth, always!

  14. Thanks Bruce, I’ll have a look!
In the meantime, check out the youtube vid! I’m a real skeptic but I’ve listened carefully to this fellow and reasoned through his “mechanical” argument and I must concur, he makes good sense! And no, as the title suggests, this video hasn’t changed my life :<)

  15. This site generally does a great job of defending / contending for the faith.

I’m not sure how delving into this subject really helps believers to live more godly lives, or protects them from false teachers.

Maybe there is a huge government conspiracy / cover-up. If so, that would just prove what we know from Scripture, anyway — Satan is the god of this world, men are evil and need the Gospel.

God’s view of conspiracies is not that they don’t happen, but that they are irrelevant (Isaiah 7), and that they actually accomplish God’s purpose (Acts 4:24-28).

Much patriotism is misplaced, and if we let love of country replace love of God in even small ways, that is idolatry. But this is not the way to tackle that problem.

Knowing exactly what happened at 9/11 will not make me a better or worse Christian, but immersing myself in trying to find out might well make me a worse one, by using time in unprofitable ways and spending much time dwelling on evil things rather than thinking on the glories of our Lord and His grace.

I have no particular objection to reading or recommending the book, and I don’t much care what someone’s opinion is on 9/11. I would be very concerned, however, to see any believer spending a lot of time on it and letting it be a major focus of their thought life.

I feel the book recommendation/review was an interesting departure from the norm and yes, a few of us “threw out hats into the secular ring” if only for a short period of time to express some thoughts on the subject.
Jon, I appreciate your words and godly insights; they may have come at the perfect time! Now, as Fanny Crosby once wrote, Onward and upward!

  17. First I’d like to apologize for taking so long to respond to your comments.

Secondly, I first posted this comment yesterday but it immediately got covered up by a barrage of comments received on another post. Because of this I decided to re-post my comment from yesterday (sorry for the length) today.

    So, here it is:

Thank you to those who responded graciously, especially those who were polite even though you disagree with the content of the post. To the others, however, whose comments were snarky, arrogant, condescending, and insulting, if you’re wondering where your comments went, please see our Rules of Engagement.

    You said:

“Not to throw water on your fire but I would point to some verses that seem to me are an ideal place to camp out in light of what you have laid out here about what is the truth of the matter about 9/11 officially and otherwise . . .”

Not sure what “fire” you’re eluding to but I would not consider truth in any capacity (nor the murder of 3,000 Americans) to be something merely glossed over as mere myths and vain discussion (as you eluded to in your quoted Scripture) no more than I’d accuse those Christians fighting on the front lines of the abortion battle (or those Christians who fought for the emancipation of slaves in the 19th century) of succumbing to myths and vain discussions. Now, if Christians put these matters ahead of and in greater elevation than the proclamation of the gospel, then you are spot on. But publishing one post on this blog about a Christian book about 9/11 (and the fact that what countless eyewitnesses experienced does not line up with the official story) does not, in my opinion, warrant the alarmist reaction that any discussion about it is somehow a grave error.

I’ve also posted on other subjects over the years that wouldn’t necessarily fit the mold of this blog (including, for example, a post on American democracy and a post on the economy) but those were not met with such admonitions and warnings as this one post has.

    You also said,

“We are to be subject to governments even if they are corrupt to the core and we are to pray for the leaders of them so that we can enjoy a quiet and peaceful life in all dignity.”

I would agree, but nowhere in the original post or in the comments has anyone suggested otherwise.

    @ Julie
Thanks for the link. I have seen the documentary that you referenced. It was pretty good, but I recommend two others that I thought were even better: Loose Change – An American Coup, and 9/11 Mysteries. Both films can be watched in their entirety by clicking on the links. The second one begins a little hokey, but bear with it for the first minute or two, it delivers.

    @ Matthew,
I have no idea how your comment to Manfred relates to this thread. It’s either error on your part, or I am missing something.

    @ Bruce
Thanks for your comment. There are many, many engineers and other experts in the field that disagree with the NIST report. So we laymans are stuck with examining the other evidence. I do not see this as being a blow to either side of the debate though. Just like a beat cop would not be able to refute or support conflicting forensic lab results from a crime scene, he can still look at all the crime scene evidence that is available to him to examine, most of which will probably help him to determine which forensic expert is correct. He can also weigh witness testimony in his determination. And in this case the eyewitness testimony is very, very compelling.

Here is video of firefighters clearing the area because there is a “bomb in the building.”

And then there’s the following six-minute clip. In my opinion, this is one of the absolute best videos around regarding whether or not there were explosions in the WTC! If you only watch one video on this subject, make it this one! (WARNING: The firefighters in this video were just injured in a “third explosion” that occurred “IN THE LOBBY,” so they were a little shaken up and were not minding their language.)

    @ Julie
    You asked:

“Are there other “testimonies” similar to Leslie Haskin’s?”

There are tons! Allow me to direct you to a video compilation of some of them. Please watch these three brief videos as it will surely answer your question (it begins at the 1:55 mark in video 1 and continues through all three clips).

    @ Mark
    You said/asked:

“Actually a friend of mine’s boyfriend was in the elevator at the plaza level when the first plane hit. And immediately the lobby was filled with dead bodies – and shoes. He ran with the others. I have no idea about cabs, but your friend’s boyfriend wasn’t the only one surprised that there were victims in the lobby of the WTC, even the firefighters who responded were “surprised” at what they saw.

Perhaps the reason there were dead/burned bodies inside the building on the ground floor (and other floors also . . . all of which were well below the impact zone) was because there were explosions that took place throughout the inside of the building before and after the planes struck, as reported by many witnesses (including the author of the book in question). These were people who lived through this horrible experience and are not “crazy conspiracy theorists” like many attempt to paint those who question the official story. These explosions in the WTC occurred as far down as in the basement and even before the first plane struck. Here’s one witness to that fact:

And here’s another witness, celebrated 9/11 hero, William Rodriguez:

And here’s a brief news piece on William Rodriguez:

There are also witnesses that saw the explosions from below the impact zone. Witnesses like Paul Lemos:

And these firefighters who describe the same thing that Paul Lemos saw:

And another witness who heard “50 consecutive bangs;”

    And these witnesses:

And here’s an interview with firefighter John Schroder about what he witnessed:

There are so many videos out there like these that I could go on and on and on. If you’re interested you can find them.

A word of caution though: There is plenty of solid information available out there, but there is also some terribly misleading information as well. A discerning eye will easily know the difference.

For example, I’ve seen theories proposed that the collapses were caused by some nuclear type detonations, however, the information from reputable investigators is pointing toward the use of thermite. There’s even particle evidence of thermite all throughout the dust in addition to the fact that molten metal blazed for weeks and weeks at Ground Zero.

I’ve also looked at those claiming that planes were not slammed into the buildings; that holograms were used and either a rocket hit the towers or just explosions. I examined what these folks believe and the evidence simply is not there; the evidence and eyewitnesses actually contradict it.

One last example, I saw a video touting a huge explosion causing one of the buildings to collapse. (We’ve all seen the videos of numerous detonations taking place on all different floors of the building before and during the collapse, but this video showed a huge fireball emerge from the damaged are of one of the towers as it fell.) I watched this video and immediately knew that the “explosion” of fire was simply from the air being pushed out from the collapse, not from any type of detonation.

Just use discernment and you’ll be fine.

    @ Katy:
I commend you for your bravery for admitting that you’ve “questioned a lot of things that just don’t add up in all of the happenings.” It takes courage to do so in the face of abrasive and oftentimes insulting opposition. Wanting to know the truth in any matter is a noble endeavor.

As a home school mom, I presume that when you teach your children history you want to teach them accurately. You would never teach them that the fight for the Alamo took place in Boston, or that the Civil War was fought over oil, or that the Swiss bombed Pearl Harbor. So I would imagine that your dedication to accuracy and truth also extends to history and that in matters pertaining to history your desire for accuracy and truth would encompass all of history, not just what’s comfortable to discuss or what’s considered non-controversial.

In regards to the collapse of WTC 7, this is a fascinating aspect, as so many people have no idea that a third building miraculously collapsed that day (I say miraculously because never in the history of mankind has a steel building collapsed due to fire, but on that day three fell). I myself was unaware of WTC 7’s collapse until recently.

Why this is so important is because Silverstein said they decided to “pull’ it. This denotes premeditation of the building’s collapse. I know you believe that it was indeed pulled, but do you realize that the official report says that it fell due to fire (never mentioning demolition). Pulling the building is a premeditative act, the building falling by fire would be a non-premeditative act. It can’t be both ways. So we have two conflicting accounts, Silverstein’s “pull” it account, and the official report that it simply fell in on itself due to fire.

Additionally, in order to bring down a building like WTC 7, it takes a lot of planning and work. You don’t just “pull” it within a few hours under the smoke of the greatest terrorist act in the history of this nation.

When one views the collapse of WTC 7, one has to conclude that it was indeed pulled, for the collapse was exactly like that of a demolition.

So another quandary arises. Let’s just say they were able to call 1-800-PullMyBuilding demolition company and they got a demolition crew to rush in there amidst all the chaos (and let’s just say doing so was a “wiser” idea than just evacuating the area and that dropping an almost 50 story building in the middle of everything else going on simply couldn’t wait). So they hastily planned it out, wired it up, and brought it all down at 5:20 pm that evening.

So if this were true, then why does Barry Jennings, who barely escaped alive out of WTC 7, tell us that explosions took place that morning in WTC 7 shortly after the planes struck WTC 1 and 2?

And here’s Mr. Jennings describing coming down out of WTC 7, hearing and even being blown back by explosions inside WTC 7, and stepping over people in the “total ruins” of the lobby.

(Mr. Jennings died of unknown causes at the age of 53, just two days before the official NIST report was published regarding the collapse of WTC7.)

I agree with you, there are so many things that don’t add up and far too much evidence that contradicts the official story. Have you heard any more after 9/11 about the vans with explosives? Nope, that information has been covered over and forgotten, but I would hardly consider it unimportant.

  18. Pilgrim,

Would you concede that it is possible that terrorists had bombs planted in there, like their first attempt at taking down WTC? This combined with God removing his restraining hand of grace from the situation is all it would take for this to happen. Something to think about brother.

    In Christ -Jim

  19. I am truly torn…I don’t know the truth…and trying to find it out is terribly overwhelming…I would feel awful to implicate or assume anyone did it if they didn’t really do it. If it WAS the muslim extremists we are terribly in the wrong for thinking otherwise….but if it WAS the govt in some strange way….I hate being “in the dark” about it. It’s quite a conundrum!

  20. @ Fleebabylon:
Much is possible, but with a quick destruction of the evidence, a poor and under funded investigation, constant obfuscation of the facts, and the ad hominem attacks against those asking serious questions, it makes finding out the truth much more difficult.

    @ Katy:
Do not be overwhelmed. Rest in knowing that God who created the universe and all that’s in it, the God who knows the numbers of the hairs on your head, the God who is sovereign over all His creation, is still on His throne and still reigns supreme.

When I began to have my eyes opened regarding this, I did not start with “I don’t like the government so therefore let me find something to be critical of.” In fact, I voted for Bush twice and it actually took me ten years before I began to see things about that day that just weren’t adding up. Not everyone who questions that day fits the mold of disgruntled left wing liberal wackos. There are many upstanding, reputable people (including those who were there that day) that question the events of that day.

I would like to think that my government was not capable of doing such a thing, but then there’s that pesky unclassified document of Operation Northwoods where the government was planning a pretext to go to war with Cuba in 1962. Oh, and the Gulf of Tonkin incident too.

False Flag pretexts are nothing new, even Nero used one to persecute Christians.

Anything is possible when fallen men are running fallen governments. It’s all very shocking, but it should not surprise us; for our hope is not in princes, kings, horses, or chariots, but in God alone.

  21. Jon Gleason,

Jesus said to “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees AND of Herod….

Mark 8:15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

That means beware of religious AND governmental false teachings…..

Evidently it was important for us to know or He wouldn’t have said it.

  22. I had a friend tell me long ago that she had heard that “some people are now saying that the government blew up the Twin Towers.” I told her that was ridiculous and part of the hype of antigovernment individuals. Now I feel like I must have had my head in the sand back then. All of these YouTube videos are very interesting. I hope someone archives them so that they don’t suddenly disappear someday. Now with that said, I am glad they were posted, I don’t think that we will ever hear the truth about it anytime soon, and I am so glad that God is Sovereign. I hope that God will put an end to all of the evil in this world very soon!

  23. I was not aware of Ms. Haskin. Thanks for the post. The comments are an interesting read as well. The “oh well, never mind” and the “don’t let it become a god” responses always tickle me. Seems no one ever sees their avoidance of such things connected to things like a decade of war, fought based on 911 lies, as any sort of god. With this sort of fear of the truth, people begin worshipping avoidance.
