John MacArthur provides a succinct introduction to the doctrine of God’s sovereignty when it comes to salvation. This Grace to You message comes from Ephesians 1:3-6.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
I don’t care what people say about MacArthur, he’s a fine man of God, and has been used by God to bring much glory to His Gospel. Thanks for the post Mark, I will be sharing it.

I agree Paul. While I am not a fan of everything he may believe, I do believe he is consistent with the Scriptures. His messages have been very encouraging to our family.

Honestly, there’s no one on earth that knows everything perfectly. We all see the truth through a dirty window. The fact that MacArthur believes in the absolute sovereignty of God is so very important. Without this truth settled, how can one truly be a Christian? It’s through His sovereignty He sent Jesus to the cross. It’s through His sovereignty He chose some for salvation while others He destined for damnation. It’s through His sovereignty we are saved. I could go on, but I tend to be long winded so I’ll stop. The point is God is sovereign–period.
