Pride is definitely a sin very hard to kill! It seems that it pops up at the most inopportune times! It’s those times when you just think you have everything under control when, in reality, nothing is under control!

This statement jumped out at me: “Be much in meditation on death and judgment.” How our “positive” cultural emphasis resists such a “negative” idea as this. Yet is not death the very thing that the Lord requires of us? Must not this kernel die before it can bear much fruit? Yes, let us wholeheartedly embrace death to self, that we may live an abundant life in Christ. Let us focus on counting all things loss for Christ. Let us fall before His throne and humbly beg for His mercy.
