The Hypocrisy of the LGBT Community

A few thoughts to consider for the thoughtful reader of DefCon –

1. Ok, for those who think to the contrary of the Bible, I would like to call your bluff in no uncertain terms. Please provide indisputable PROOF from the scientific and medical communities that people are born transgender or as homosexuals or lesbians, etc. THEORIES or PRESUPPOSITIONS based on psychology does not count. It must be based on DNA, genetics, things that can be proven in a lab or research facility.

2. For those who think that God “MADE” a mistake when He made you, I would encourage you to read the truth of Scriptures. The same holds true to any who think that ALL or ANY sexual activity outside the bounds of marriage between one man and one woman is acceptable. John 3:36 makes it clear as to God’s perspective on those who willfully abide in their sin and abomination. “He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son will not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.” Those who are children of God will obey the commands of Scripture, but those who choose their own paths are clearly bent on destruction AND the wrath of God does abide on them until salvation takes place. The bottom line is that God does NOT make mistakes and He does not create that which would contradict the principles and truths found in His Word (the Holy Scriptures).

3. I share with those who read that there is no hatred for any who live in a lifestyle that is contrary to God. It is NOT up to me to bring condemnation of eternal punishment. If I am to follow the truth of Scripture, I must learn to 1) love God with all my heart, soul, and mind, and the 2) is to love my neighbor as myself. However, it is NOT loving if I fail to warn you that there is a high price to pay one day for choosing a path or lifestyle that is in contradiction to the character of the Holy God. Some who read might PRESUME upon my character and belief that I hate you and others who do not live like I do. That is unfounded and is based purely on the speculation of how you THINK others should believe and how you THINK others should allow you to practice with no lack of tolerance apart from intolerance towards “bigots” and “hate-mongers” like me. I look forward to seeing your “PROOF.”

4. So, just to clarify, a person can HATE the actions of those who choose to pray aloud to God in school or a public place but that person probably would say nothing if it was a Muslim student doing it. Further, you can hate prayer and find it an affront or grievance to you, but you would have NO problem fully endorsing that same person’s right to speak if they choose to spew filthy, vulgar language or even speak aloud of his or her ability to practice deviant lifestyles. Absolutely amazing! So, you can HATE as long as you get your way, but if I HATE that which is contrary to the Scriptures, I am condemned as a bigot and I am judging others. So, exactly, how does this logic work again???

5. The problem is that the world is trying to dictate new standards of morality based on what suits the depravity of the human heart. You cannot have morals without the God who gave and created the morals to begin with. It is the same God who created one man and one woman and instituted marriage between those two. The reality is that the LGBT agenda is an abomination before God and will always be so. Sadly, a small very vocal minority are trying to bully the world into accepting perverted lifestyles. By the way, Disney has long sought to subtly and now openly promote the homosexual agenda. The homosexual agenda will never be content with “marriage” between two of the same sex. They are after our children. We are headed the way of Rome and will be brought to our knees just as Rome was for her wickedness.

6. By the way, if homosexuality or lesbianism is “normal” and supposedly created by God, why in each relationship do you have one that acts the part of a male and one a female? God created one man and one woman and commanded them to multiply and fill the earth. Interesting that God did not give the ability to procreate between two men or two women, and biology and science cannot change that. Notice I did not mention “gay” sex. I spoke of the irony of how in any relationship between two men, one will seek to be effeminate (or the wife), while with two lesbians, one will seek to dominate and play a masculine role.

7. God states that ALL AND ANY sex outside of marriage between one man and one woman is an abomination before Him. God also tells us that the hearts of ALL men and women are evil. Romans 3 states that there is nobody who is good, not even one. They have all gone out of the way in their depravity. There does not need to be any additional verses regarding a person who thinks they were born in the wrong type of body. To hold to this is ultimately stating that God makes mistakes. Further, the Bible is clear that it is not a particular sin that will send people to hell, but the one of unbelief. Belief in God resulting in salvation only comes when a person repents and confesses their sin to God and then places their faith in Christ alone for their salvation. That belief then is followed by a willing obedience to the commands of Christ.

8. Despite the fact that many will studiously avoid my thoughts and questions, I will share that God commands all men to repent. The need for repentance is not dependent on one’s choice of sex or lifestyle. It is based solely on the fact that man is separated by his very nature from a holy God. What would God say to a transgender person? He tells them to repent and that today is the day of salvation for all who come in faith in Jesus Christ. The transgender equality issue is one that seeks to erode what God has created. To force those choices upon the general public, particularly within the education system, is foolishness and stupidity at best, and at worst, only further undermines the differences between male and female as created by God.

  1. I have two points:

    1) There is no ‘sin of unbelief’ in the bible, because Jesus died to pay for ALL sin, so by saying there is a ‘sin of unbelief’ you are saying that Jesus did NOT die to pay for ALL sin, He died to pay for all but one sin. Unbelief is a state we are in, not a sin; no works that we can do will remove our sin nature because Jesus already took care of sin. This is proven in Revelation 20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” These people were never saved, yet they were not judged for their ‘sins’, they were judged according to their ‘works’ (and we know that there are no ‘works’ we can do that will get us into Heaven).

    2) You hit a great point when you reminded us to love our neighbors; we cannot lose sight of the fact that Jesus not only died for ALL ‘sin’, but He died for ALL ‘sinners’, so the next time you have hate in your heart towards a gay or lesbian individual, please recall some of ‘your’ sins that Jesus died for. My favorite example is ‘gluttony’; how many people who are overweight (yes, I am overweight) want to overlook Deuteronomy 21:20-21 where the parents of a glutton would bring their son to the elders of the city where he would be stoned to death. And for those who are not overweight, don’t forget these other examples; In Numbers 15:32-35, a man was found who had “gathered sticks upon the sabbath day” was stoned to death. In Deuteronomy 22:20-21 a young lady who was found to have had sex before marriage was to be stoned to death. I know that these were under the law and we are now under Grace, but if they were wrong in God’s eye back then, they are still wrong, the only difference is that Jesus has already died for these people, so God no longer holds their sin against them (Hebrews 10:17 “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”)

    And as with the original article, this is not written with any hate or intolerance, it is written with concern for your soul, which will live for eternity either in Heaven or in Hell.

    Interesting way to begin your judgment against me by using inflammatory rhetoric, but I digress.

    I will address a few issues briefly but I will not be allowing your comment to be approved on the board.

    1. You reference the type of posts or the subject matter that we address here. In hundreds of posts over the last 2+ years, I counted approximately 17 addressing homosexuality in some way, and some of those were not even the main point. Further, the sin of apostasy in the church has actually been dealt with to a far greater extent by at least a factor of 20-25. Finally, you ask about the antics of people like Mark Driscoll. You obviously have not spent time reading our blogs because we have covered this particular topic VERY thoroughly.

    2. Homosexuality and lesbianism IS a choice. Period. And the growth of HIV/AIDS as an epidemic has spread because of these lifestyle choices. Obviously, still no proof from you or others to the contrary. The word “conclusively” is not a definitive, precise, and rock-solid term that can be used as “proof” from the medical field.

    3. You asked, “Who knows, unless Jungle Missionary has the answer, why and for what purposes God would create those with same-sex attraction.” – Answer, you err greatly in assigning sin to a holy God. God does NOT create people with same-sex attraction.

    4. You asked, “What’s loving about warning complete strangers about God’s wrath?” Further, you state, “I’ve never needed to “warn” them knowing that when I stand in humble submission before His Great White Throne.” — Answer, again you err not knowing the Scriptures. The entire Word of God is filled with prophets, apostles, and teachers whose words were “Repent, and flee from the wrath to come!” Even the Lord Jesus Christ spoke of wrath and the coming judgment. Again, I would reference John 3:36. There is love and there is mercy, but it came at a high price, namely, the outpouring of the WRATH OF GOD upon His only begotten Son. Because He became the Sin-bearer, if we place our faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, we can be forgiven and do not have to ever fear the wrath of God.

    5. NOT to warn people (whether complete strangers or not) that their house is on fire and they will die if they do not abandon hope of staying alive unless they get out is the MOST unloving thing you could keep from another human being. Why should anybody want to be “saved” if they do not understand WHAT they are being saved from? People need to know that there is a hell to shun and that they WILL SUFFER at the hands of the Sovereign Judge of the Universe if they do not repent of their sins and while pleading for mercy, place their in Christ alone.

    6. You ask, “May I in turn challenge Jungle Missionary to list for me all the verses that he may know of which speak against Homosexuality. I have done this before with no response but I’ll try again.” — Answer, if you had supposedly read ALL the myriad of blogs that you claim have been written here on the matter of homosexuality, you would already have your answer. The Scriptures have been referred to over and over and over here at DefCon, not only in regards to homosexuality, but to adultery, pornography, apostasy, false teaching, heresy, the church, etc, etc, etc.

    Actually, the Scriptures make it very clear that Christ died for the sin of ALL who come by grace and place their faith in Him alone for their salvation. In so doing, repentance and confession of sin also takes place.

    There are countless millions who are in hell, but they are not there because they are murderers, adulterers, homosexuals, fornicators, lesbians, liars, thieves, etc. They are in hell today because they rejected the Son of God. This is called unbelief. Paul wrote to the Romans and dealt with the matter of double jeopardy. If Christ had died and atoned for the sin of every person with no exclusion, nobody would be in hell. Further, God would not be able to send anybody to hell if His Son had been the perfect sacrifice for ALL sin with no exception. This Scriptural teaching is termed “Limited Atonement” by some, but I prefer the term “Particular Redemption.” Christ died for His Bride. He became their Sin so that we who are sinners can be made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus – 2 Corinthians 5:21.

    Second, I find it interesting that I address the matter of hypocrisy and do so in love seeking to warn people from the wrath of God and you throw out the well-worn and trite statement that I “have hate” in my heart. Amazing love is this that God would become flesh to atone for my sin of which I am well aware, but I have no hatred in my heart towards those trapped in their lost condition and living in open rebellion against God.

    Third, yes, I do write out of concern for the souls of men and women. However, there is no danger of spending eternity in hell for any true believer. There is danger though as Romans and Revelation make clear that all who continue to live in a way that is an abomination before God AND those who endorse such will be cast into hell UNLESS there is repentance and confession of sin while placing one’s faith in Jesus Christ alone. When He makes a person a new creation, all will become new.

    Finally, a person cannot truly be called by Christ and still openly, deliberately, and willfully practice as a homosexual, adulterer, fornicator, drunkard, liar, murderer, lesbian, etc.

  4. I had, while writing my comment, little doubt that it would be supressed. It’s only those who are broad minded and open to re-considering their positions in the light of adverse opinion who allow publication of all views. Both supportive and other.

    I do not claim to read all forposts nor follow every one in detail; so may I re-iterate my request put in the m of a challenger – which you appear to be avoiding – that you allow me reference to all Scripture verses that appear to deal directly or indirectly with Homosexuality.
    Perhaps you’d like to ask yourself a question; if homosexuality is a choice, why do so many rather commit suicide than make that choice, it does not appear logical does it.

    1 Corinthians 6:9-10, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

    The Law of Moses is very clear on where God stands on the matter of homosexuality and lesbianism. In fact, it is placed in the same consideration of abominations as bestiality and incest. I recommend a thorough reading of Exodus and Deuteronomy.

    Read the account of Genesis 19 that details the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. They were NOT destroyed because the oppressed the poor, Dennis. They were destroyed because of their wicked perversions one with another.

  6. Let me start by saying that I worded my reply poorly; I did not mean to say that ‘you’ have hate in your heart, I was in reference to those who do have hate in their hearts. I can tell by the original post that it was written in love and not in hate and I apologize for my error.

    Jesus did die for all whether they believe unto salvation or not, just read Hebrews 10:10 “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Either He died once for “all” as the scripture says, or He died once for ‘some’. Also take a look at 1 Timothy 4:10 “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.” Jesus is the “Saviour of all men” whether they ‘repent’ and ‘believe’ or not, but “specially of those that believe”, meaning that those who ‘believe’ are the ones who will enjoy His free gift of eternity in Heaven.

    And I agree, there is no danger for any true believer spending eternity in hell, but unfortunately there are many who think they are ‘believers’ but are not ‘true believers’. Take a look at Matthew 7:21-23; there will be “many” who think they are saved and will list the good things they have done for God, but He sees those works as “iniquity”. And they will depart from God because He never knew them. One possible confusion for the people mentioned here is the meaning of the term ‘repent’; most people think it means to turn ‘from’ your sin and ‘towards’ God, but in reality it means a change of mind. When we repent, we change our mind as to what can get us to Heaven, we stop trusting in our works (as those who listed their works in Matthew 7), and lean wholly on the finished work of Christ.

    And just to clarify in case my intent did not come through on my first reply, I agree with the original post (other than the ‘sin of unbelief’), and I was not attempting to disagree with the points in any way.

    I would – at this stage – rather not listen to man’s view of what Scripture says, believing with Pink that we should be free to allow Scripture to speak to us under guidance of the Holy Spirit but yet never scorning or setting aside the interpretations of those who are more qualified to understand then perhaps we are.
    May I restate my immediate needs – again at this stage only – whichf is for a list of references [Book, Chapter and verse (s)], both Old and New Testaments that bear on Homosexuality. Not a difficult ask I’m sure

  10. Homosexuality is a sexual sin birthed out of the human heart- see Matthew 15:19 {where the use of ‘fornications’ is used, which covers all sex outside of marriage}, James 1:13-14, Romans 1:24-28.
    In Romans 1:26-27 we find women and men exchanging the ‘natural use’, or ‘inborn, produced by nature’. God has instilled in each of us, at birth, the natural way, which is man with woman and woman with man. It is only when the truth of God is suppressed we see mankind being given over to their sins, sins they choose to indulge in because of the lusts of their own hearts. All sin is a choice, as a result of the sinner pursuing their own lusts. Homosexuality is no different-it is not a genetic defect, it is not a right that must be respected and condoned by all. It is a sexual sin, forbidden by God; resulting from the desire to satisfy ‘self’ and ‘self’s’ sexual lustful appetite.
    Worldly terminology like ‘same sex attraction’, ‘sexual orientation’, ‘gay’, ‘alternative lifestyle’, etc. only compound this sin which the bible calls an abomination. This sin is not an attraction, it is birthed out of forbidden lust. It is not some form of orientation, is is not another alternative that God may have overlooked, for He laid it out plainly in Genesis 2:24 what His design for marriage was to be. Let’s get back to calling it what it is, sin. There is hope for those who choose to indulge in their own lustful passion, for all who entangle themselves in sexual sin. Christ and His atoning work covers the sins of those who believe. When we use worldly terminology to address sin, we lessen the severity of it and we take the ‘sting’ out of it. The heart must be pricked and broken by God over its sin; the sinner must see the severity of his/her wickedness against a thrice -holy God. You cannot go outside the word of God and use the world’s defining of sin and expect the sinner to rightly understand their own appalling acts.

    As a former lesbian saved solely by God’s grace, I know where all my sins originated from, I understand every act of rebellion was by my choice, my own doing, as I longed for what is forbidden, and pursued that longing. Every act of rebellion I indulged in was because I CHOSE it, I pursued it, I desired it, and I followed through on my own desires in my actions. To claim anything other than what I’ve stated is to try and lay blame elsewhere, and avoid accountability. Shame on anyone who dares to do so.

I mean Jesus said looking with lust was committing adultery, but he never intended for us to feel bad about indulging the perverse fantasies of the mind we were born with, right?

  13. You got it Mark. We have backed down, as a result of fear as well as misunderstanding, with many believing that to speak out biblically against homosexuality is ‘unloving’. So we use worldly terminology instead of biblical truth when addressing this sin, and we fear we may be too harsh in our speech. We dare not be offensive in our language, and yet, if the heart is to be pricked, it must be pricked using the ‘tool’ that pricks…God’s truth.
    God help us!!! Where is the boldness the Apostle Paul prayed for, and had? What did that boldness consist of, what did it look like? Read how the Apostle Peter’s words cut to the heart and caused many to cry out, ‘brethren, what shall we do?’ in Acts 2; Or when Stephen spoke the truth and again, hearts were pricked, but not towards repentance. ‘When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.’ Acts 7:54.Simply speaking the truth of the word of the Lord, that’s where the power lies…in His truth; not in how we speak it, or what method we may resort to. Let’s get back to the proven method – – -the word of the Lord, unvarnished, unadulterated, not added to or taken away from.

  14. We often claim to have a biblical worldview and purport that the worldview is secular and humanistic. Sadly, the worldview in practice of the evangelical church looks so much like the world that it no longer has a testimony. People do not know that there is something to be saved from because our worldview says that we must love one another just as we are.

    “Live and let live” says the world, and the church meekly (or should I say weakly) tags along behind like a little lapdog because the world has a lot of the crutches we think we have to have in order to survive from day to day. The world provides the job security, the ability to be successful, the houses, the cars, the riches, and the entertainment.

    The church, well…it often offers the same things in order to keep the goats happy. Then one day, we lament because the “members” got up and left to another place with bigger and better programs. Our cry goes out then, “What do we need to change to make them happy so they will come back again?”

    And Christ stands at the door of His door, knocking, desiring to come and fellowship with the church and nobody is even listening. If they are, few care that He is knocking, fewer care that He is outside, and even fewer have even figured out that His presence has not been there in a very long time.

    No, not so!

    If so Robert account for this verse:

    And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. (Acts 20:32 ESV)

    From the very first verse, Genesis 1:1, to the last verse of the Bible God’s Grace abounds.

  16. I think another problem is that we tend to get roped into another argument, which is whether or not a person chooses homosexuality. The world says, “I didn’t choose who I am attracted to,” and we tend to yell back, “Yes you did!” By even arguing that point – a point that we can’t Biblically prove – we are conceding to the world’s implicit claim that if they didn’t consciously choose to desire it, God can’t call it wrong.

    We have a sin nature, and we tend to instinctively move toward sin. Whether or not we decided, “I want to desire to commit X” does not change whether or not X is sinful, and we as Christians need to proclaim that loud and clear.

    What an excellent comment about unwittingly accepting the world’s argument that if we don’t consciously choose something then God can’t judge us for it. The world’s argument in this case presupposes two things which I believe are incorrect. The first is that we can do things unconsciously. This pernicious lie about the human mind (i.e. the psychoanalytic theory of the unconscious; and the id, ego and superego) is appealing for obvious reasons. However, I think we must have grave doubts about the integrity of the theorist who offered up this view of human nature- Sigmund Freud. A lover of cocaine, a hater of religion and women, and an atheist. Really, our common sense as believers should tell us that it is doubtful (although not impossible, of course) that God chose to give Freud an extraordinary new revelation about human nature (which conveniently lets us out of an enormous amount of responsibility) that he did not see fit to bestow on one of many courageous saints such as Spurgeon, Edwards or Ryle who were around at the time. Or His apostles for that matter.

    The second assumption is that we can make rules about what God can or can’t judge in human action. Since nowhere does God say…well, if you didn’t realize you were actually sinning, I won’t count it…then I suspect that we cannot place on him the restriction of not judging things done from the unconscious mind (which in all probability is not actually a reality but rather a reflection of our total depravity and inordinate ability to suppress the truth).

You worship a God which you have no evidence exists other than a book written from scrolls found in the desert..Deciphered by men, edited by men, rewritten by So called religious leaders, under the direction of a King who held property and slaves and had a reason to see that his lands were saved…and you have the gall to challenge the legitimacy of Scientific and Psychological facts? Talk about Brainwashing and Hypocrisy in practice. WOW!

  20. Wendy, thanks for stopping by. You mention scientific and psychological “facts”. Please provide these “facts” of which you speak that would prove contrary to the subject matter of my article. Hard, provable facts only. NO speculation or maybes or ummms or could possibly be etc. FACTS. Remember that if it is based on science, it should be able to be reproducable in a lab environment. Most of psychology is based on conjectures, theories, and wild speculation, so I am very interested to see what you have to offer. By the way, just to help you out a little and save a little time – the “gay” gene has already been proven to be non-existent.

    Creation and the human conscience testify to these things even in the life of an unbeliever. Even historical secular writings testify of the suffering savior Jesus Christ who lived in Jerusalem 2000 years ago. Beyond that you can personally know God exists by humbling yourself (you being a wicked and depraved sinner who deserves hell) and trusting in him.

    For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

This is not the first time this has occurred. Does this site only cater for those who are in total agreement with the views posted? I sincerely hope not.

He does NOT create people homosexuals or lesbians, but I would agree that people by their totally depraved nature will always seek to gravitate towards that which pleases the flesh, and not pleasing to God.

  24. To state that God would create homosexuals/lesbians is to misunderstand sin, where it is birthed, and who is responsible. Sexual sin is always a choice, and never a defective genetic malfunction. Why would God create anyone to be homosexual when His word warns of judgment against this sin? God does not create just so He can destroy.

  25. Concerning the canard that Jesus never said anything about BLANK, is a logical fallacy. This fallacy assumes that Jesus endorses everything that He did not specifically condemn.
    Jesus did command mankind to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. That would of course include every scripture on the subject.
    Jesus, God the Son, is the word of God made flesh. God wrote/inspired the Bible.
    Wendy, Liberals know so much that just isn’t so, and you just proved it.
