My step-mother is a cradle Catholic who learned much of her religion as a middle-aged adult, when she sponsored a convert. As she was tell my wife about this, my dear wife observed that the Roman Catholic Church appears to be stuck in the Old Testament Jewish religion – only twisted quite a bit around that special heresy of the office of the pope.
