Coming from a Baptist Arminian church, I had many years of difficult struggles with the doctrines of grace. I remember that John MacArthur’s series on the doctrines of grace and his usual careful expositions was such a blessing to help me unlearn and relearn, albeit with many repeated hearings. I would recommend anyone going through the same struggles to learn from the series.

I thank the Lord for all men who stand firm on this essential question – What must I do to be saved? All throughout the Scriptures we see that it is God alone Who determines who can repent and believe. Those who water this Truth down have a sentimental view of man and a pitiful view of God.
