Great Apes Now Enjoy “Human Rights”

No, this is not a joke, though I wish it was.

The Spanish parliament has voiced its support for the rights of great apes to life and freedom.

In a statement, Pedro Pozas, Spanish director of the Great Apes Project, said, “This is a historic day in the struggle for animal rights and in defense of our evolutionary comrades, which will doubtless go down in the history of humanity.”

Now I am worried if they will extend these rights to all of our “evolutionary comrades” because there might come a day when I can be charged with ‘man’-slaughter or even murder if I consciously kill a mosquito carrying the dengue fever virus.

And, gasp!, won’t eating meat be considered cannibalism?!

In the meantime, does anyone know how I can say “Welcome, cousins!” in ape-ese?

Planned Parenthood to spread its poisoned roots into shopping malls

From Albert Mohler’s blog comes this frightening article about how the wormwood tree known as Planned Parenthood (motto: “We’ve never met a baby we didn’t want to kill, or a profit we didn’t want to make!“) is spreading out its roots into shopping malls:

“It is indeed a new look…a new branding, if you will.” That’s the explanation offered by Leslie Durgin, a senior vice president at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. She was speaking of Planned Parenthood’s new “upscale” approach to marketing abortions and other “services” to wealthier suburban women.

This new strategy and marketing plan was described in chilling detail by reporter Stephanie Simon of The Wall Street Journal [article available by subscription only]. “Flush with cash, Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide are aggressively expanding their reach,” she explains, “seeking to woo more affluent patients with a network of suburban clinics and huge new health centers that project a decidedly upscale image.”

Not content to lead poor women astray with the notion that their best option is to kill their child, they are now targeting the wombs of wealthy, upscale women with their product–death.

Make no mistake about it, Planned Parenthood has an agenda, even as it did when founded by Margaret Sanger and other radicals in the early 20th century. The organization receives hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from killing unborn babies. It wants to extend its reach into the population.
As Simon reports:

[Wall Street Journal artcle begins]: Last spring, the nonprofit — which has 882 clinics nationwide — dropped its crusading mission statement setting out the rights of all individuals, no matter their income, to “reproductive self-determination.” In its place, Planned Parenthood adopted a crisp pledge to “leverage strength through our affiliated structure to be the nation’s most trusted provider of sexual and reproductive health care.” Ms. Richards says the new statement implies expanded services for all — she’s especially eager to draw more male patients — but some outsiders wonder why it no longer mentions affordability or access.

This is not the Planned Parenthood we all grew up with… they now have more of a business approach, much more aggressive,” said Amy Hagstrom Miller, who runs abortion clinics in Texas and Maryland.[End of WSJ article]

The article does mention, however, that PP will

offer services just short of abortions

at these storefronts. They may not perform abortions there, but you know they will be talking them up. Kinda like how drug dealers get people hooked by giving them some junk for free, just to get them hooked, so when they’re ready they’ll know where to get their fix.

Now, PP may be claiming that they are moving into malls to attract adult women. But who do they really think they are trying to fool? Who is it that makes up a large percentage of mall population? That’s right! teenagers! Just like beer and cigarette companies market to younger and younger demographics to get kids buying their products early, this is exactly what Planned Parenthood is doing.

[WSJ article begins]: The group has always operated some suburban clinics, but some of its local affiliates, which have a great deal of autonomy, have made a determined effort in the past few years to “be the provider of first choice…for people who do have other options,” said David Greenberg, Oregon’s top Planned Parenthood executive. Officials note that health insurance doesn’t always cover contraception and even women with access to private doctors may prefer the confidentiality of buying birth control or getting a herpes test at a Planned Parenthood clinic.

It is high time we follow the population,” said Sarah Stoesz, who heads Planned Parenthood operations in three Midwest states. She recently opened three express centers in wealthy Minnesota suburbs, “in shopping centers and malls, places where women are already doing their grocery shopping, picking up their Starbucks, living their daily lives,” Ms. Stoesz said. [WSJ article ends]

One Planned Parenthood executive went so far as to say, “I like to think of it as the LensCrafters of family planning.”

That’s right! Pick up some jeans at the Gap, grab a half-caff latte at Starbucks, and learn how to kill your child, all under one roof! How sick can a person possibly be? To equate the murder of a child to getting contact lenses? Thank you, Warren Court! Oh, and for all of those who think this is all about “women’s health,” and that Planned Parenthood is just in it to help women, and they have no ulterior motives, look at that line in the above blockquote: some of its local affiliates, which have a great deal of autonomy, have made a determined effort in the past few years to “be the provider of first choice…for people who do have other options,”

It’s a business, folks! To lift the name of an old Megadeth album (yeah, I used to listen to them. Don’t remind me!), “Killing is our business, and business is good!”

Planned Parenthood may try to brush up the organization’s image, but the business remains abortion. In a chilling reminder of the grotesque intersection of baby killing and business, local independent abortion centers are complaining that Planned Parenthood threatens their own volume in abortions. Amy Hagstrom Miller runs abortion clinics in two states, and she is not pleased:

[WSJ article begins]: “Ms. Hagstrom Miller competes with Planned Parenthood for abortion patients — and finds it deeply frustrating. She does not receive the government grants or tax-deductible donations that bolster Planned Parenthood, and says she can’t match the nonprofit’s budget for advertising or clinic upgrades. She has carved her own niche by touting her care as more holistic — and by charging $425 for a first-trimester surgery at her Austin clinic, compared with $475 at the local Planned Parenthood. (Both Ms. Hagstrom Miller and Planned Parenthood say they work out discounts and payment plans for the needy.) [WSJ article ends]

This is about revenue and profit, market growth and competition. It is a horrifying glimpse into the cold hard reality of what stands behind the abortion movement in general and Planned Parenthood in particular — the ideology of death and the love of money. Can we imagine a more lethal combination?

Planned Parenthood may soon be coming to a mall near you, but no matter how much they want to burnish their image and go “upscale,” their business remains death on demand. The Culture of Death creeps on — mile by mile, mall by mall.

King Ahaz burned his children in the fires of Molech. Today we suck them out of the womb.

The coming judgment on this nation shall be swift and horrific, but justified and deserved.

I found the following piece by Ingrid Schlueter over at Slice of Laodicea and felt it was so important to pass on to the readers of DefCon that I’ve posted the entire article below, complete and unedited:

**This related news story from CNS News Service just hit my in box**

There’s lots of dialogue going on this days. Evangelical leaders met with Barack Obama this week to dialogue some more. They haven’t figured out what aborted babies in America already know—that Obama supports the right to slaughter preborn babies in the womb and those out of the womb who manage to survive a induced labor abortion. Obama twice voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in the state of Illinois. This bill was supposed to allow babies to live who managed to survive an abortion procedure, and it was introduced after nurses like Jill Stanek protested having to watch little babies die on dirty laundry carts after failed hospital abortions. Jill recalls holding one such down’s syndrome baby for 45 minutes because nobody else would hold him while he died. They had put the infant on a cart in a laundry room to die. This, Barack Obama supports and it’s on the record in the state of Illinois. So extreme are his views on abortion that the Washington Post carried a piece on just how extreme he is. Michelle Obama drafted a fundraising letter for his Senate campaign that warned about how zealots wanted to stop partial birth abortion and that her husband would keep it safe for all women. The Obamas support partial birth abortion where the baby’s head is born, skull punctured with scissors, the brains sucked out and the baby then delivered and hurled into a bucket. That’s real hope and opportunity for all, Mr. Obama. What a hero.

These evangelical leaders like T.D. Jakes, who said he had goosebumps when Obama got the nomination, should be forced to watch what Jill Stanek did, holding a baby that had been murdered at his mother’s request, all because he had down’s syndrome. They should have to watch the movie Hard Truth and see what America’s idolatry of choice has brought us. 50 million dead human beings and counting. The irony is, rather than stand up for human life in this election, many evangelicals (a predicted 40%) will help facilitate the election of one who has a track record on child killing that is so extreme the Washington Post even comments on it.

The worshippers of Molech used to toss their infants into the fire as a sacrifice to their god. The Lord despised these pagan practices and the murder of innocents. Today’s Americans sacrifice their children on the altar to the god of convenience. It isn’t done in public places on high altars. It is done in clinics, as a medical “procedure”, far away from the public view. The bodies of these babies are incinerated and the smoke goes up from the chimneys of these death camps daily in our country. God sees the smoke and ashes of these human sacrifices that ascends before Him and He is judging it. The blood of these babies cries out, and God hears it.

Here is the video that these pastors need to watch. Please read the lyrics of the song being sung if you choose to watch this. This is a video that shows the reality of the broken bodies of abortion victims. This is what Barack Obama defends and why America is in peril. We had 100 pastors watch this in Milwaukee and they sat in the dark afterwards weeping over it. Eight weeks later, 10,000 Christians gathered together at a local arena to repent over apathy over child-killing. Within another few months, the entire thing was forgotten.

Malediction

Lyrics: Kemper Crabb
Music: Kemper Crabb & Frank Hart

The judges sat outside the Law
And in their pride no evil saw
In setting teeth to Satan’s jaw
And feeding him our children.
When viewed in terms of cost and ease
An unborn child is a disease
A holocaust seen fit to please
Our own convience.
A curse A curse the Law it cries.
A curse a curse on mankind’s pride.
A curse on him who would deny
God’s image in mankind.
Torn from out their mother’s womb
Denied the sky – denied a tomb
Conceived in lust to their own ruin
A sacrifice to pleasure.
The doctors with their blood red hands
Who love their money more than man,
With greed their god they lay their plans
The butchers of mankind.
A curse a curse the blood cries out
A curse a curse the heavens shout
A curse a curse on he who flouts
God’s image in mankind.
O rid us of this evil, Lord
And turn our hearts by cross or Sword.
Our nation cannot long afford
To live beneath your judgements.
A curse a curse upon their heads
O save them Lord or slay them dead
And fill our country with your Dread
And turn away Your anger.

Oprah Winfrey’s necromancy

Isaiah 8:19-20–And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

You can hear Oprah Winfrey, the woman behind the man who wants to be our next president (Hussein Osama bin-Obama) speaking with a woman who “channels” Abraham. Ask yourself if this is the kind of person you want so close to the White House.

Subway: Eat Fresh, but don’t bother entering our contest if you’re home schooled.

Recently the Subway sandwich chain offered this contest to kids in public, private, and parochial schools but excluded those kids that are home schooled, saying: “Home schools not eligible.” You can read more about this at American Thinker.

This discrimination obviously caused a stir and especially so in the Blog World (and critics still say bloggers are wasting their time). Subway has since retracted their stance on home schooled kids by apologizing and indicating that they plan on holding another contest in which home schoolers will be welcome.

The picture in this post is a fictitious fabrication that I found here and is not/was not found on the Subway website.

Barack Obama’s church making waves yet again.

Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s Chicago area United Church of Christ is back in the news. This time it’s not because of remarks by Jeremiah Wright but instead it’s for the remarks of Catholic Priest Michael Pfleger (invited to speak at Trinity) during a Christless, racist-laden sermon tirade.

This is supposed to be Christianity?

New Jewish prayer book to be gender neutral.

According to this news article from the United Kingdom, the new Jewish Sabbath prayer book is removing references to God as King, Father, and Lord in favor of more gender neutral titles. This same book, “. . . also provides prayers for 21st century problems such as environmental and natural disasters and prayers for depression, miscarriage and the death of a child.

The Billy Graham tapes.

The Watergate tapes weren’t the only recordings to come out of the Nixon presidency that shed light on otherwise secret conversations, hidden agendas, and dark hearts. Another recording that is just as damaging but has been all but forgotten occurred between President Richard Nixon and well-known evangelist universalist Billy Graham.

On the tapes Billy Graham calls the Jewish influence on the media a “stronghold” that “has to be broken or this country’s going down the drain.

The conversation continues:

Nixon: “You believe that?”

Graham: “Yes, sir.”

Nixon: “Oh boy. So do I. I can’t ever say that but I believe it.”

Graham: “If you get elected a second time, then we might be able to do something.”

Here’s one more exchange:

Graham: “A lot of Jews are great friends of mine. They swarm around me and are friendly to me, because they know that I am friendly to Israel and so forth, but they don’t know how I really feel about what they’re doing to this country, and I have no power and no way to handle them.”

Nixon: “You must not let them know.”

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.

The body of a newborn baby boy was found discarded in a trash can in a Las Vegas casino on Mother’s Day. What is shocking to me is that people are shocked. Why? If she chose to go to the local Planned Parenthood they would have dismembered her child for just a few Benjamins and the child she murdered would have simply been forgotten like the other 4,000 children murdered in this country every day.

I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about. Didn’t she just make use of the “rights” that others have fought so hard for? Didn’t she merely exercise her “freedom to choose?” Isn’t what she did protected as her “constitutional right to privacy?”

The lesson to learn here is this:

Kill your baby in a clinic = legal and acceptable.

Kill your baby on your own = heinous and unspeakable act.

Standing at Lot’s door: Militant homosexual activism vs your freedom of speech.

Ryan Sorba, author of The Born Gay Hoax, was giving a speech at Smith College in Massachusetts when the lecture was overtaken by a group of militant pro-gay activists that not only interrupted Mr. Sorba, but completely shut down his freedom of speech. You can read more about this incident here including a timeline of events in each of the videos and a reprint of the college president’s pandering letter addressing the incident.

Many may shrug their shoulders at this since it happened at a distant college and has no affect on them in Anytown, USA. I beg to differ. It will only be a matter of time before this type of hate comes to a church near you. Are you ready?

I can’t help but wonder how things would have been handled if the invited guest was a pro-gay or pro-abortion speaker and an opposition group came in and acted in this manner.

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

PETA: Up to their old tricks again.

Well, it’s official. PETA has come out and said that a jockey intentionally broke a horse’s legs during a race. If you don’t believe me, keep reading. Now, PETA has come up with some really whacky stuff in the past, but this one–I’m not quite sure how to describe it.

PETA’s latest shenanigans consist of accusing the jockey of Eight Belles–the filly that had to be put down on the track at Churchill Downs following the Kentucky Derby–of injuring the horse. Deliberately.

No. I’m. Not. Kidding.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is seeking the suspension of Eight Belles’ jockey after the filly had to be euthanized following her second-place finish in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

Gabriel Saez was riding Eight Belles when she broke both front ankles while galloping out a quarter of a mile past the wire. She was euthanized on the track.

PETA faxed a letter Sunday to Kentucky’s racing authority claiming the filly was “doubtlessly injured before the finish” and asked that Saez be suspended while Eight Belles’ death is investigated.

“What we really want to know, did he feel anything along the way?” PETA spokeswoman Kathy Guillermo said. “If he didn’t then we can probably blame the fact that they’re allowed to whip the horses mercilessly.”

Eight Belles trainer Larry Jones said the filly was clearly happy when she crossed the finish line.

“I don’t know how in the heck they can even come close to saying that,” Jones told The Associated Press on Sunday. “She has her ears up, clearly galloping out.”

Guillermo said if Saez is found at fault, the group wants the second-place prize of $400,000 won by Eight Belles to be revoked.

Saez, a 20-year-old Panama native, was riding in his first Kentucky Derby. He frequently rides for Jones.

A call to the jockeys’ room at Delaware Park, where Saez raced on Sunday, went unanswered.

Eight Belles, the first filly since 1999 to run in the Derby, appeared fine until collapsing while galloping out after the finish.

The letter to the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority also sought a ban on whipping, limits on races and the age of racehorses, and a move to softer, artificial surfaces for all courses.

OK. Um, what did this guy say? “What we really want to know, did he feel anything along the way?” Um, yes he probably did feel something. He probably felt like the horse had a really good shot at winning. He probably felt like this was the greatest moment in his career.

Oh, they’re asking if Saez felt like the horse was in danger. Of course he did. That’s why he kept her thundering along at top speed, just to make sure that when Eight Belles broke her legs, it would be a thorough job. That must be why he continued “whipping her mercilessly.”

I wonder if anyone has informed these people that horses have been raced for, oh, I don’t know, hundreds of years. That the Romans–those wonderful people that they were–raced chariots that were pulled by…..um, horses. I don’t hear anybody from PETA saying we shouldn’t glamorize the Roman Empire because they used horses for their entertainment. Well, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. This is a group of people that don’t have anything better to do with their time than to go around trespassing and vandalizing.

Oh, have I mentioned that PETA kills animals?

In spite of all the church entertainment, young adults are not sticking with the church.

According to USA Today, Young adults aren’t sticking with church. This is shocking since all the stops have been pulled out by today’s emergent and seeker-friendly churches to entertain and appease their members. Those who especially had their felt needs catered to are the very demographic that is abandoning the faith in “sobering” numbers.

I can’t understand how young adults are walking away from all these cool, hip, and relevant churches when these churches have exerted so much effort to become like the world to attract them in the first place. It is truly a mystery.

The graveyard of “relevance” now houses the bones of such gems as having a cool place to experience God, passing out shot glasses, reliving the 80’s, sermons on sex, and more sex, sermons on The Beatles, MTV-like pastors, Elvis-led worship, Spice Girls lip syncing, Michael Jackson music video reenactments, Garth Brooks performances, poker, Las Vegas style church, churches turned into concerts, Hip Hop prayer books, Gothic Christianity, Kick-Boxing, belly dancing, yoga, and Bible study at Hooters.

Truly a mystery, truly a mystery indeed.

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ,

for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes . . .
