Today is the first day of the last month of 2013, and while for some it is a day of worship in church, for many thousands, it will be their final day on earth. For them, the day of judgment will arrive whether they believe it or not, and whether they like it or not will not matter one iota.
Today is the day of salvation for those who have never placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Flee to him and plead for mercy before it is too late.
This is a message that should be preached in EVERY evangelical church in America until it is fully understood, and each person in attendance is driven to their knees in repentance, or until they flee because of the willful, deliberate hatred of their heart against a holy God.
Oh friend, flee from the wrath of God before it is eternally too late!

I greatly appreciate Pastor Martin’s willingness to go where so many pastors in America won’t. Whether it’s dealing with such taboo subjects in the church as the expectation of families to have family worship time and warning against the misuse of television (see here) or the subject of the rampant immodesty within the church (see here), Pastor Martin is not one to shy away from stepping on toes as he deals with subjects that most other pastors won’t touch for fear of alienating segments of the church or being labeled a “legalist.”
In today’s message Pastor Martin takes the gloves off as he deals with the subject of marriage. This is no “ten steps to a better marriage” type sermon; expect to be challenged and convicted.
Albert Martin gives us encouragement and admonition in this decades-old message entitled Family Worship and the Use of TV.
Albert Martin delivers a riveting message putting to rest the false doctrine of Carnal Christianity so rampant in evangelicalism. This message is as important and as timely today as it was when he preached it 47 years ago.
Today DefCon wraps up our Saturday Sermon Series by Albert Martin on the fear of God. This timeless message was delivered in 1970 and is as needed to be heard by the church today as it was 41 years ago.

As a follow-up to Brother Michael’s post on modesty (found here) which was a follow-up to my post on modesty (found here), I present your sermon of the week by Albert Martin entitled Validating the Gospel in Modesty.
At the 40:45 mark, Pastor Martin does something startling with his congregation. Although he sticks his neck out, I think it was very effective at driving home his point.
Your Wednesday sermon of the week is a powerful one from Albert N. Martin.
Warning to Professing Christians is one of those messages you won’t hear in most churches that dot the landscape of American Christianity today.
Albert N. Martin delivers a convicting exposition of Matthew 7:21, a verse that I have wrestled with countless times (and still do). I’d also venture to say most readers of DefCon (who are supportive of our work here) have also been challenged by this verse at some point in their walk.
With that said, I not only recommend this sermon to the readers of DefCon who support us, but I also submit that this needs to be heard by those who give us the most resistance (like those who sit under such teachers as Robert Schuller, Perry Noble, Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Mark Driscoll, etc.).
If you won’t listen to us (because we’re all just a bunch of prude “Pharisees”), perhaps you may give this sermon a chance and heed the warnings contained within. Although this sermon was delivered in 1994, it is just as apropos–if not more–today!
One of my favorite quotes from this sermon is in response to those who hide behind their sins with the excuse “nobody’s perfect.” Albert N. Martin says:
This is the hypocrites couch; this is the believer’s bed of thorns.
He also asks this cutting question in regards to Christians and their worldliness:
When you’ve got to suck at the world’s fountains for fulfillment, where in the world are you?
