The epitome of a Mormon testimony.

This post is not intended to be insulting or demeaning, but is a glimpse into why it is so difficult to convince a Mormon to review the facts about Mormonism from a reasonable standpoint and apply logic to come to a conclusion.

As you will see from these two brief videos, a Mormon testimony usually requires no logic, evidence, or even cognitive reasoning; just feelings. This is why oftentimes the debate with a Mormon dissolves into, “I bear you my testimony . . . ” and “I know, because I know, because I know.”

Their regurgitating of this indoctrinated mantra “I bear you my testimony” is frequently employed when presented with the evidence that Mormonism is a false religion. This type of “testimony” reveals that their whole basis for belief is grounded on emotion and feelings at the exclusion of fact, reason, and logic.

Rick Warren to give invocation at Barack Hussein Obama’s inauguration.

rw It’s official, Rick Warren is scheduled to deliver the invocation at pro-abortion, pro-infanticide, pro-homosexual Barack Hussein Obama’s inauguration (see here). So far the one’s making the biggest stink about this is the homosexual advancement crowd (see here). Maybe that’s because the Christians aren’t shocked anymore by those who claim to represent Christianity (read: we’ve come to expect this from the likes of Rick Warren).

I’m not sure why the pro-homosexual crowd is so stunned, though. After all, Barack Hussein Obama has invited the Lesbian and Gay Band Association to march in the inauguration. Isn’t that enough of a compromise? Or is it the total absence of all opposition that these “tolerant” special interest groups are seeking?

In 1559, Pope Pius IV gave the following excuse for not allowing people to read the Bible in their native tongue:

Since experience teaches that, if the reading of the Holy Bible in the vernacular is permitted generally without discrimination, more damage than advantage will result because of the boldness of men, the judgment of the bishops and inquisitors is to serve as guide in this regard. Bishops and inquisitors may, in accord with the counsel of the local priest and confessor, allow Catholic translations of the Bible to be read by those of whom they realize that such reading will not lead to the detriment but to the increase of faith and piety. The permission is to be given in writing. Whoever reads or has such a translation in his possession without this permission cannot be absolved from his sins until he has turned in these Bibles.

Several years later, another writer said the following:

Easy access to sacred Scripture should be provided for all the Christian faithful…Since the word of God should be available at all times…suitable and correct translations are made into different languages, especially from the original texts of the sacred books.

Worldly “wisdom” places the value of a tree over that of the life of an unborn child and when this mindset is followed to its logical conclusion what you see in this video is the result:

High Desert “church” proving once again that nothing is sacred in American Christianity.

I found the following video over at Slice of Laodicea. For those who remember High Desert from my previous post Christianity: It’s All About the Music?, you’ll see that it’s still “church” as usual.

I cannot add any more to the commentary than what Ingrid Schlueter already added on her post:

The prophetically named High Desert Church has a Student Ministries pastor named Tim Kuhl who decided at some point in his career to serve as an archetype of everything that is wrong with evangelicalism. This YouTube video serves as a useful one stop place to explain why I could not be paid to attend one of these freak show churches at any price. Tim Kuhl is featured on YouTube at his church, “singing”/lip syncing the well-known mockery version of O Holy Night for the entertainment of the rabble attending. As one commenter put it, it’s no wonder the world laughs at Christians. Even they don’t take their own faith seriously, because they worship a god who is just like THEM.
