Planned Parenthood caught again.

When Planned Parenthood isn’t issuing abortion gift certificates, producing offensive propaganda films, continuing in their founder’s racial cleansing ideals, advancing black genocide, and doing what they do best (practicing fetal-terrorism in the wombs of thousands of women every day), they skirt the law and attempt to hide child rape in order to make one more sale (and this isn’t the first time they’ve been busted). They always say it’s “about the woman” but it’s really about the dollar.

Who’s pastoring the youth pastors?

youth-group

Christian Lady published an eye-opening piece on Youth Specialties: Free Resources, Tips and Ideas.

Although there’s much wrong with these tips and ideas, it’s what’s missing that’s most disturbing.  Allow me to quote the original poster’s thoughts on this as she stated her concerns more eloquently than I could have:

I read through the 100 ideas for Youth Workers on the Youth Specialties web page and noticed words/terms/names not used at all in the list.

Missing are:  God, Bible, Christ, Salvation, Sin, Faith, Death, Hell, Devotion(s), Jesus, Holy Spirit, Believe, Repent, Prayer

Not Missing:  Church, Adult, MTV, Rolling Stone, Frisbee, Football, Surveys, Space, Phone Chain, Goals, Worship, Retreats

I’ve posted fifteen of their one hundred tips and ideas below for your examination. Visit their website to view them all.

Tip #2

Subscribe to a popular magazine like Rolling Stone or Teen that will help keep you on top of the current youth culture.

Tip #4

Use surveys and questionnaires to their best advantage. Find out what your young people are thinking on a regular basis.

Tip #10

Don’t meet in a room that is too big for your youth group. If your group is small, meet in a small room. This gives kids the feeling of being “packed” in. Always make sure your meeting place is casual and comfortable.

Tip #11

Have the young people in your group put together a “youth group yearbook” at the end of the year. It should include photos and articles about the past year’s activities. It will be a positive reminder of the good times shared by the group.

Tip #22

Develop programs that reflect the needs, interests and energy level of the young people in your group, not the adults who work with them.

Tip #25

Plan some early morning or late night activities. There will be few conflicts and the kids will enjoy the adventure.

Tip #39

Familiarize yourself with the music your students listen to. MTV’s weekly top videos countdown and some weekly radio programs will help you stay current. Periodically discuss the music with your kids in a positive way.

Tip #44

Put together a “skit closet” full of costumes, old clothes, and props for your drama productions or even last-minute illustrations. Ask people in the church to donate ridiculous looking clothing and other items. Your local thrift shop is a great resource, too.

Tip #59

Never use religious jargon and worn-out cliches. Say what you mean in words today’s youth can understand.

Tip #60

Build self-esteem in your students by affirming them both when they are alone and when they are with their peers. Over time make it a point to say something positive to each one.

Tip #73

Keep a supply of games and recreational items in the trunk of your car at all times. You never can tell when you’ll need a football, a Frisbee, or a few water balloons.

Tip #75

Always serve refreshments at meetings and activities. It’s a relatively easy thing to do and kids love it. It also keeps them around a little longer for personal contact.

Tip #84

Videotape the “big game” this year at your local high school and show it after the game on a wide-screen TV. Invite the whole school.

Tip #93

Use TV to your advantage. Tape and discuss good programs. Discuss and evaluate the programs that are most popular with your youth.

Tip #97

Put on a drama once a year. It gives more kids a chance to use their talents and be in the limelight.

Besides the idea and concept of a “youth pastor” being completely absent from the Scriptures, and besides the fact that too often the “youth pastor” has never raised kids of his own, knows too little about theology and too much about MTV, and in spite of the incredible failure rate of “youth pastors” (the false conversions abound), it still seems that “youth pastors” are all the rage in Laodicea. I wonder why that is . . .

To quote Paul Washer on the subject:

“What are most youth groups like? You get a real personable young leader who’s usually not married and a lot of mousse in his hair. And then he gets a lot of young people around him, and what do they become? According to Proverbs they become companions of fools. When you put young people with young people in this atmosphere of adolescence you have no growth to adulthood, you have no maturity, no elders are involved, no parents are involved. It can’t work because it’s not Biblical.”

Sermon of the week: “John 1:1 and the Jehovah’s Witnesses” by Don Green.

DefCon will be examining the deity of Jesus Christ throughout the month of December. Each sermon of the week will feature the next installment of this five-part series by Don Green.

We start off with part one today with the sermon entitled John 1:1 and the Jehovah’s Witnesses. This is a superb journey into the doctrine of Christ’s deity beginning with John 1:1. Don Green also takes this opportunity to tackle the heretical teaching of the Jehovah’s Witnesses where they twist this verse. This is a theology lesson you don’t want to miss.

With the precision of a skilled surgeon, Don Green, cuts into the lies of the Jehovah’s Witnesses with four points that systematically proves that their rendering of John 1:1 as “a god” is not only impossible, it’s not even debatable.

This is a fantastic sermon on the defense of John 1:1 that everyone should hear. Sadly the one’s that need to hear it the most (those who deny the deity of Jesus Christ like Jehovah’s Witnesses) will probably never take the time to listen to it. However, if there are any Jehovah’s Witnesses out there who are brave enough to listen to this sermon I challenge you to do so. And if (after listening to it) you wish to discuss it, you are more than welcome to do so and we will be more than happy to correspond with you.

Charismania unrestrained: Africa’s witch children.

This is one of the most disturbing and heart-wrenching documentaries I’ve ever seen. This shocking six-part video depicts what I view as simply the Word of Faith heresy taken to its logical conclusion (and perpetuated in the fertile soil of pagan superstition) in a land where no laws exist to protect children. You can’t help but be moved to tears by the human wreckage left in the wake of Pentecostalism’s sweep across Nigeria as children are starved, tortured, beaten, and killed because some “prophet” or “prophetess” labels them a witch. Stepping Stones (the only known organization helping these children) said the following on their website:

“Stepping Stones Nigeria does not wish to denounce any faith organisation. However the role of the church, especially some of the new Pentecostals, in spreading the belief in child witches cannot be underestimated. There are numerous so-called pastors in the region who are wrongly branding children as ‘witches’ mainly for economic self gain and personal recognition.”

This is a documentary that you must see, but be warned, it contains some graphic and disturbing images and material.

I’ve posted my own title/description preceding each video.

Contrasts of death, and another “invitation.”

wal-mart-stampede While just a couple days ago over 100 people died in India at the hands of merciless, bloodthirsty Muslims (and the city is still currently under siege as of the writing of this post), today in America a 34 year-old Wal-Mart employee was killed after being trampled to death when a mob of shoppers broke down the doors to get their hands on the holiday shopping bargains. What was this mans life worth?

The CBS news article also contains a cellphone video from a shopper which shows emergency personnel futility trying to save the mans life. What a contrast between us in the States and the rest of the world.

America, oh America, what have you become? While the world is in turmoil we numb ourselves on video games, text messaging, television, and worshiping our pop idols who attend 20 million dollar parties. We simply don’t get it, do we? Today we eat, drink, be merry, and shop till we drop, yet we have no idea that tomorrow we die.

And while we’re out consuming, consuming, consuming, we have received yet another “invitation” from the bloodthirsty terrorists to “embrace Islam.”

For those who don’t understand the significance of this, I urge you to check out the post A Storm is Brewing While the Masses Sleep and be sure to listen to the accompanying short audio clip on that post.

And He told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man was very productive.”And he began reasoning to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.’And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.”‘ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’ Luke 12:16-20

The “religion of peace” strikes again!

mumbai-1 While America celebrated Thanksgiving, India was reeling from a coordinated attack which targeted Americans and Britons. While we in the States were making plans, preparing meals, and spending time with family, it seems that the “religion of peace” was conducting a “ministry outreach” in India.

mumbai-4

I don’t want to sound like an alarmist, and this is certainly not a “thus saith the Lord,” but America better brace itself because this relentless Hall-spawned advancement of Islam is going to visit our shores real soon . . . again.

mumbai-3

Sadly the masses have fallen back to sleep since 9/11 partly because President George W. Bush (whether you like him or not) has taken the fight to the terrorists–keeping the Islamic Jihadists busy in Iraq and Afghanistan and keeping them out of our cities and our neighborhoods. But with a newly elected president who’s tougher on the Second Amendment and the unborn than on terrorism, I hope that at least some of us will be prepared for what’s about to befall our nation.

mumbai-2

Those who want to see this nation (and Israel) eliminated will most certainly take another swipe at us once our new president takes office. Especially when you consider that Barrack Hussein Obama sat under the intolerant, anti-American, hate-filled, socialist, black liberation rhetoric of Jeremiah Wright for twenty years. It’s difficult to listen to that vitriolic ranting for two decades (against the very country you live in) and not be influenced.

obama_wright

Most terrorist experts agree that America will be attacked again, and it’s not an if but a when. Anyone who’s paying attention to what’s going on (and not too preoccupied with Fantasy Football or American Idol) can see the handwriting on the wall. So my question is this: What do you think the next attack on America will be by the “religion of peace“?

What is on Mark Driscoll’s shirt?

In the following video of Mark Driscoll I observed something that may have gone unnoticed (or ignored) by the masses of Driscollites.

Is the image on his shirt truly a depiction Jesus Christ (what we commonly associate in the West as being Jesus for those who will split hairs in Driscoll’s defense)? And is that depiction of who we commonly associate in the West as being Jesus Christ also being depicted on his shirt as a DJ at the turntables?

How completely irreverent but oh, so relevant.

His depiction of the Savior on his shirt betrays everything he says in the video. ‘Tis a shame, ’tis a shame indeed.

yahannan.jpg In few countries is the failure of Christian humanism more apparent than in Thailand. There, after 150 years of missionaries showing marvelous social compassion, Christians still make up only two percent of the entire population. Self-sacrificing missionaries probably have done more to modernize the country than any other single force. Thailand owes to missionaries its widespread literacy, first printing press, first university, first hospital, first doctor, and almost every other benefit of education and science. In every area, including trade and diplomacy, Christian missionaries put the needs of the host nation first and helped usher in the 20th century. Meanwhile, millions have slipped into eternity without the Lord. They died more educated, better governed, and healthier—but they died without Christ and are bound for Hell.

Sermon of the week: “Monergistic Regeneration” by Arturo Azurdia.

arturo Your sermon of the week is a two-part message entitled Monergistic Regeneration by Pastor Arturo Azurdia. Pastor Azurdia lays out the fundamentals of regeneration: specifically it’s all God and no us, because salvation is of the Lord.

Monergistic Regeneration (Part One)

Monergistic Regeneration (Part Two)

“Disciple Shades” spammed the wrong blog.

DefCon oftentimes deals with the shameless marketing of Christianity. In fact we have a whole category devoted to this foolishness entitled Den of Robbers.

What makes this one so special, though, is the irony behind it. I discovered these despicable Disciple Shades because the company actually sent their product advertisement to me via the DefCon e-mail!

Apparently they didn’t take the time to read how DefCon views their shameless marketing of Christianity. But what more would you expect from a company who links to TBN and the Crystal Cathedral on their links page? Apparently they didn’t take the time to read how DefCon views TBN and Robert Schuller.

Here’s a picture from their website:

disciple-shades

What exactly is this supposed to be depicting? Does it remind you of anything? Perhaps an event that transpired in the third chapter of Genesis?

But I digress.

Here’s part of what their e-mail to DefCon said:

For those who desire to dwell on their devotion and stay focused on their faith, Disciple Shades is pleased to offer the first and only collection of Christian-based reading and sunglasses with different meaningful biblical verses on the inside of every style. Created as simple reminders, our glasses provide a unique way to keep our attention on what is truly important – our faith and spirituality.

Then if you go to their Good Works Brigade page you will learn all about their good works brigade, but there’s not one mention of Jesus Christ nor His Gospel. The following is an excerpt from that web page:

Doing “good” is about being the best you can be and giving the most you can—to yourself, your friends, your community, and our world. Wherever you live on this big, beautiful planet, whether you wear a beret or a burkha, a serape or sweats, we’re all part of one universal family. Committing a single act of kindness can set the stage for inspiring the next person—and the next person and the next person and the next—to follow suit. It’s in this spirit of keeping that connection going and growing that we created our Good Works Brigade web forum.

We know your good deeds come from the heart and that you don’t expect material recompense. (You know your ultimate reward comes after this lifetime!) But Disciple Shades nonetheless wants to give you a big pat on the back—and a t-shirt to go with it. Yep, we’ll send you a free t-shirt with the Disciple Shades logo on the back and, on the front, our Works Brigade slogan: Think Heavenly, Act Locally.

What kind of universalist drivel was all that? “We know your good deeds come from the heart“? They do? Apparently they know nothing about man’s total depravity and that the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9).

So how can you too take advantage of the weak minded like these den of robbers? Here’s how simple it is: Find something mundane like a pair of sunglasses; smack a feel-good (usually out of context) Bible verse on it (in a place where no one can see it); slap a cross or dove on it in a place where people can see it, and then market it to shallow professing Christians. The same also works with shoe inserts & socks and tight-fitting “Christian” jeans with stilettos.
