Senseless tragedy: Another victim of charismatic Pentecostalism.

Pastor Randy Wolford of West Virginia dies after being bitten by a rattlesnake that he was handling during a Pentecostal service.

“Vicie Haywood, mother of Pastor Randy ‘Mack’ Wolford, strokes her son’s feet as the pastor lies on the couch at his mother-in-law’s home near Bluefield, W.Va. Wolford was bitten by a rattlesnake during a Sunday worship service. He was pronounced dead early the next morning at the Bluefield Regional Medical Center.”

Has Mark Driscoll gone Charismatic?

The Sola Sisters have posted a doozey about Mark Driscoll talking to demons and giving extra-biblical advice on how to perform exorcisms.

Had I only read the transcript from the following video–not knowing who it came from–I would have never guessed it came from Mark Driscoll. I would have been sure it came from someone who frequents TBN.

Be sure to visit the Sola Sisters article (linked above) for more on this latest movement away from biblical Christianity by Mark Driscoll.

Quotes (855)

John MacArthur The charismatic movement is largely the reason the church is in the mess it’s in today. In virtually every area where church life is unbiblical, you can attribute it to the charismatic movement. In virtually every area — bad theology, superficial worship, ego, prosperity gospel, personality elevation — all of that comes out of the charismatic movement.

HT: The Paper Thin Hymn

Derek meets a false apostle and Shelly confronts her pastor.

These two videos hit the proverbial nail on the head on every over-used cliche and every platitude I’ve hear ad nauseum in my time in charismatic circles. (You’ll have to watch each video over at YouTube since embedding has been enabled.)

Derek’s encounter:

Shelly’s encounter:

The babbling babbler babbles about Babel.

This is the third of a series of four videos on Jesse Duplantis’ utterly heretical teachings that we’re featuring here on DefCon so you can better understand just how sinister the Charismatic Word of Faith movement really is (see parts one here and two here).

In the following video watch how this great deceiver twists yet more Scripture and subtly manipulates his undiscerning followers to believe his Satanically inspired closing point that “there’s nothing man can’t do.”

Come Judgment Day I am certain he will be singing a different tune, but for his biblically illiterate followers it will be too late.

If only his blind followers read the Scriptures for themselves they’d know they were being lied to.

The LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men HAD BUILT.

Genesis 11:5

So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they STOPPED BUILDING the city.

Genesis 11:8

You, not God, decides when you die: Jesse Duplantis continues his ‘twisting.’

This is a continuation from this previous post on Jesse Duplantis. This video shows Duplantis’ continued twisting of Scripture . . . twisting that would make Chubby Checker envious.

Where’s the sermon?

As you watch these two video clips you have to ask yourself, “Where is the preaching of the Word?” These people are entertained (and manipulated) so easily that it’s frightening.

I had to endure this foolishness back in the 1990’s and I see that fifteen years later this wickedness is still popular among the “experience chasers.” I pity these people because I was once in their shoes. I however, never succumbed to the possession / emotionalism / manipulation that they experience. When the “holy laughter” movement came to my church, I summarily left (with ridicule by those who stayed) only to watch the church crumble within a few months with sex scandals starting with the pastor. Oh, how I wasted so much of my life under these false teachers.

Do you need any more proof that Kenneth Copeland is a wolf in sheep’s clothing?

[Jesus] was the first man to be born again from sin, sickness, demons, death to life.

And yet the multitudes continue to sit under his teachings and send this wolf their money.
