The Real Issue in America

I have no intention of using this post to argue politically for what is going on right now across America.

But, here are some things that the world sees taking place and for Christians, it is time that we give due consideration to what is really happening. We also need to ask ourselves what we should be doing and how we can best respond to a terrible situation.

True Bible-believing Christians need to stop listening to the spin of the liberal media and the various movements that are only striving desperately to be involved in race-baiting.

Read these carefully:

1) The real issue is NOT about white privilege or black privilege.
2) The real issue is NOT about slavery.
3) The real issue is NOT about a black man who died at the hands of what appears to be corrupt policemen.
4) The real issue is NOT about corrupt policeman always picking on people who have a different color skin than themselves.
5) The real issue is NOT about the need for reparations for atrocities that took place 50-200 years ago.
6) The real issue is NOT about Republicans or Democrats.
7) The real issue is NOT about US citizens or illegal immigrants.
8) The real issue is NOT about the color of one’s skin.
9) The real issue is NOT about the freedom to protest.
10) The real issue is NOT about demanding white people get down on their knees and beg for forgiveness for things they never did.

Right now, riots and looting and mayhem and absolute carnage have caused millions and millions of dollars of damage across the US and even in England. Businesses will never rebuild because everything has been burned to the ground. While firefighters are tending fires, EMTs are tending to the injured police and protestors, and the police are trying to stand and protect, the general public are living scared. The general public is afraid that the riots may come to their town.

Some cities are now considering completely defunding police forces thus caving in to the demands of liberals. In those cities, the general public will live in fear from day to day when there is no longer a police presence to keep criminals at bay.

You may be asking, if these things are NOT the real issue, then what is the problem?

Are you ready for the truth?

The REAL ISSUE is sin. S-I-N!

The REAL ISSUE is pride, which is rooted in sin.

The REAL ISSUE is the total depravity of the heart of man. The Bible is clear that the heart of every single individual is corrupt and desperately wicked.

The REAL ISSUE is that some who call themselves Christian ministers are instructing their congregations with teaching that is contrary to the Scriptures.

The REAL ISSUE is that people hate God and they hate others. Blatant disregard for the two commands given by Christ is the reason why things like racism, prejudism, hatred, bitterness, animosity, riots, looting, murder, mayhem, etc. take place all across this world.

The REAL ISSUE is that men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil.

The REAL ISSUE is that many churches no longer preach the truth. They want to preach a social gospel which only damns the souls of men and women.

The REAL ISSUE is that churches and pastors have failed to remember their calling is not about trying to make the world a better place, but their calling is to remember that this world is NOT our home and we are just passing through.

The REAL ISSUE is that we have failed to remember the Great Commission to go into ALL the world, preach the gospel to ALL people, and then to disciple ALL believers to become more like Jesus Christ.

The REAL ISSUE is that we have failed to remember that out of faith, hope, and love that the greatest of all of these is LOVE.

The REAL ISSUE is that the church has forgotten that people are lost and dying and on their way into eternity without Christ unless we tell them.

Now that you understand the REAL ISSUES, let’s talk about the matter of asking forgiveness. The Bible is clear in its teaching about seeking and extending forgiveness.

Christians, you will not find one Scripture that instructs us to get on our knees and ask the forgiveness of others for the things that our ancestors may or may not have done. The Bible tells us that we are responsible for our own sin. Every individual is responsible BEFORE God for our own sins, and not the sins of others.

Christians, you will not find one Bible verse that demands that white people get down on their knees and seek forgiveness for being white. God, the Creator of the Universe, made one human race. God alone is the creator of life and He alone creates us with different skin colors.

To demand something God does not require is to seek to make ourselves greater than God. To question who and how God made a person to be His image-bearer on earth is to say that we know better than God. Ultimately, to question God in the place we were born is to demand accountability from God toward His creation.

But God is sovereign. Ecclesiastes says that He has set eternity in the heart of man and Romans reminds us that even creation points to the majesty of God.

Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. If you are tired of what you find in your heart and you realize that the only way to change is by grace through faith alone in Christ alone, then the Bible is clear.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Yes, my friend, there is hope but it is not found in politics or religion or culture or any aspect of society. The hope that racism, prejudism, and all the other ills of the world will end is only found in the knowledge that God made a way for a man or woman to be forgiven of his or her sin.

Christ became the sin-bearer of mankind so that fellowship could be restored between God and man. It cannot happen by good works or by trying to be a good, moral person for there is no such person.

In conclusion, your real issue and my real issue is not about somebody else. Our real issue is personal. Your real issue is about you. My real issue is about me. Our real issue is about our relationship with a holy and righteous God who cannot stand to look upon sin.

Plead to God for mercy if you have not done so already and before it is too late. Look to Him and seek forgiveness for the sin which separates you from His holiness. Stop blame-shifting and passing the buck for your own wickedness.

Come to Jesus and He will save you. The Bible says that all who come to Christ that He will not cast them away.

The love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell.

Forgiveness is only true found in Christ alone. He is our hope in life and death.

The Tailspin of Civilization

Tailspin – the word is used to describe the motion of an aircraft that is in a diving descent combined with the aircraft spinning around and around. It is a problem that has caused the crash of many aircraft when the pilot cannot recover.

Cambridge English Dictionary defines tailspin as – “A situation in which something starts to fail or lose value and gets more and more out of control.”

Our society and culture is in a tailspin. Our country is in a tailspin. To be honest, I believe that western civilization is in a tailspin.

There are myriads of situations where things have either started to fail or have lost value. This has caused our country to get more and more out of control. Here are a few of the many reasons why this is true.

1) God is no longer considered relevant.

The atheist Voltaire stated (as have others in various forms), ““In the beginning God created man in His own image, and man has been trying to repay the favor ever since.”

The west has long abandoned seeking after God and there is nowhere this is more evident than in so-called evangelical circles. Men and women proclaiming themselves to be messengers of God have twisted the Scriptures to mean whatever they want them to mean. The number of evangelicals who believe the fundamentals of the faith has dropped drastically and even the Scriptures are no longer held up as the authority for all that pertains to life and godliness.

2) The Scriptures are no longer revered.

The Bible is the ONLY book inspired by a holy God. ALL other books that are proclaimed to be “holy” are bogus. They were written by men who had no true love for the almight God of the universe. ONLY the Bible changes lives, and ONLY the Bible offers hope to all of mankind who will come to the foot of the cross and place their faith in Christ alone. PLUS NOTHING and MINUS NOTHING.

3) The laws of God are ignored.

When Jesus Christ (Yeshua) walked this earth, He fulfilled every aspect of the law. During His ministry, He gave two laws that all are to follow or they stand in defiance of God and will remain separated from His holiness.

First, we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and body. Simply stated, if there is anything that you love MORE than you love God, then are willfully, deliberately, and wickedly defying the first command by creating idols of your own choosing.

Second, we are to love our neighbor as we already love ourselves. Our world has twisted this on its head and tells us that we don’t love ourselves enough. The world says we need to think more highly of ourselves before we can care and love others. However, the Bible says that we are NOT to think of ourselves highly, but in lowering ourselves in humility, we are to esteem and raise others up.

4) Morals are no longer considered absolute.

Doris Day sang her way into many homes when she sang “Que Sera Sera.” Loosely translated, it means “Whatever will be, will be.”

Today’s society and culture considers as acceptable everything that is opposed to the holiness of God. They flaunt their wickedness in the faces of true believers by the trampling underfoot of Biblical marriage, the Biblical roles of men and women, the Biblical definition of family, the Biblical definition of government, the Biblical definition of life, etc.

To be clear, per the Word of God:

A) Biblical marriage is between one man and one woman for life. It is NOT between two men, two women, a human and an animal, a human and an inanimate object, etc.

B) Biblical roles are defined by God. This means that if you were born a man that you will die as a man. If you were born a woman then you will die as a woman. NO amount of mutilation or medicine will ever change that.

C) Biblical families are families that consist of one man and one woman having children and raising them to the honor and glory of God.

D) Biblical government is one that recognizes the sovereignty of God and seeks God for wisdom and understanding so that they may know how to govern rightly.

E) Biblical definition of life is that it is given by God for He alone creates life. This means that abortion for ANY reason undermines the sanctity of life as given by God.

Conclusion:

Currently in America, there is much destruction taking place because a black man, sadly, lost his life. We have something due process of law in this country. This means that the court system and jury of their peers will be charged with determining whether the police officers involved were to blame.

However, despite all the destruction, I see NOBODY protesting at the loss of life that takes place due to gang activity every single week in cities like Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Detroit.

Despite all the looting and burning, I see NOBODY protesting at the loss of life that takes place by the tens of thousands every year in predominantly African-American communities when pre-born infants are MURDERED.

The looting, protesting, burning, destruction of property, endangering of the lives of innocent individuals has NOTHING to do with a single individual who lost his life. ALL of this is taking place because of the total depravity of the heart of man.

This has NOTHING to do with race, politics, or whatever reason you want to put in the blank. Man flouts the law of God, corrupt governments let it take place, and the results are being seen on the nightly news.

When morals are whatever you determine them to be, then the strife, hatred, confusion, etc. that we are currently seeing take place in America is justified.

When God is not honored and worshipped, then life is meaningless.

When the laws of Christ are hated, then mankind will use any and all excuses they can to ruin the lives and properties of others. Anarchy will reign supreme and people will live in fear.

When the rules that govern life are devoid of the Bible, then the rules are meaningless and will change daily to suit the whims of those seeking to enforce them.

Those who are true believers need to pray for wisdom. We need to humble ourselves before God and seek forgiveness for ALL the areas in which we have walked contrary to the laws of God. Our churches need to seek forgiveness for failing to uphold the truth of God’s Word and proclaiming that it is good and right for ALL that pertains to life and godliness. We need to pray for revival and seek God’s face.

ONLY then will the world sit up and see that there truly is a difference and a joy that comes from loving and following Jesus.

Admitting to Murder Under Oath

The total depravity of the world continues to manifest itself, but few seem to care. The Bible is clear that many will call evil to be good and what is good they will call evil.

No matter how many laws are passed approving the continued murder of infants, God’s law will supersede them all. Children are a gift of God and abortion is, always has been, and always will be outright murder!

A video on the LDS by the BBC.

This was a well done piece on Mormonism by the BBC.

Although the impetus for the documentary was presidential candidate Mitt Romney, this video uses his potential presidency as a springboard to delve into Mormonism’s seedy underbelly (unfortunately they never mention such morsels as Mormonism’s racism and blasphemous doctrines like Blood Atonement, paying for your own sins in Hell, and their god having physical relations with Mary to conceive Jesus . . . just to name a few).

While some professing Christians are busy blurring the lines between Christianity and Mormonism (see here and here for example), at least the secular media isn’t being hoodwinked by Mormonism’s slick PR campaign.

Case in point: The following video that aired on MSNBC. I do not know who Lawrence O’Donnell is, but hats off to him for his courage to peel back the facade of Mormonism on national television.

And in the event that the inevitable Mormon apologist comes along and attempts to obfuscate Mormonism’s long history of racism with that was just Brigham Young’s opinion, or the LDS church never taught that, or this was an isolated remark taken out of context, or the myriad of other lies used to hide Mormonism’s history, I simply direct your attention to this post where many more racist quotes from Mormon leaders can be read.

On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Mormon church wishes to remind you that they’ve been racism-free for 31 years.

Isn’t “new revelation” about doctrine just grand? It’s like silly putty: so pliable in the hands of the “prophets” that they can overturn years of racist LDS traditions and teachings (including the prohibition against blacks in the priesthood) with one simple claim: God has changed His mind.

And since this “new revelation” in June of 1978, the LDS spin doctors have worked tirelessly to cover up the racist teachings of their prophets, even going so far as to change the Book of Mormon–the very book they claim not only contains the fullness of the gospel, but is the most correct book on earth (minus those 3,913 changes and corrections made to it of course).

So on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let us embark on a leisurely stroll down the halls of Mormonism’s history to see what this organization’s stance on race was until the summer of 1978.

And the gospel of Jesus Christ shall be declared among them [Lamanites]; wherefore, they shall be restored unto the knowledge of their fathers, and also to the knowledge of Jesus Christ . . . . and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a white and delightsome people. – Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 30:5-6, (Changed in 1981 to read “pure and delightsome“)

And it came to pass that I beheld, after they had dwindled in unbelief they became a dark, and loathsome, and a filthy people, full of idleness and all manner of abominations. – Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 12:23

Go figure. The man doesn’t mind killing babies–what more is a little bigotry thrown in the mix?

Somebody might want to tell Rev. Joseph Lowery to wake up and smell the coffee. No one has “told blacks to get in back” for about, oh, I don’t know, about 40 years now. And besides, you racist bigot, most whites have embraced what is right!

Did this guy not realize they were swearing in an African-American to be president?

FAIR Response:

The critics have their history wrong. The change dates to 1837. The change was made by Joseph Smith in the 1837 edition of the Book of Mormon, though it was not carried through in some other editions, which mistakenly followed the 1830 instead of Joseph’s change. It was restored in the 1981 edition, but that was nearly 150 years after the change was made by Joseph.

This issue has been discussed extensively in the Church’s magazines (e.g. the Ensign), and the scholarly publication BYU Studies.

My Response:

OK, so let me get this straight. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints–the organization that publishes the Book of Mormon–“mistakenly followed the 1830” edition of the BOM and kept the words “white and delightsome” in some editions–for ALMOST 150 YEARS!!!! Well, this is understandable. When there are almost 4000 changes made to a work of fiction like the BOM, it’s hard to keep track of all of them. And again, we get back to the age-old question–if the BOM was dictated, word-for-word, from God to Joseph Smith, wouldn’t the 1830 edition be closer to what God supposedly told Joseph to write? Shouldn’t those words be given precedent over the changes made to the BOM by men?

And do you notice something about FAIR’s answer: there are no links to take you to a more in-depth study of the issue. So far, every answer they have given has come with a link to some other page that at least makes an attempt to refute the idea offered. But here? Eh, not so much. They claim that “This issue has been discussed extensively in the Church’s magazines (e.g. the Ensign), and the scholarly publication BYU Studies. ” OK, how about a reference? Some kind of citation that can take us to one of these “magazines” and “BYU Studies?”

Well, I guess we need to look at what Mormon “prophets” have said about this passage. Does this mean that Brigham Young “mistakenly followed the 1830,” when he

stated in 1859, “You may inquire of the intelligent of the world whether they can tell why the aborigines of this country are dark, loathsome, ignorant, and sunken into the depths of degradation …When the Lord has a people, he makes covenants with them and gives unto them promises: then, if they transgress his law, change his ordinances, and break his covenants he has made with them, he will put a mark upon them, as in the case of the Lamanites and other portions of the house of Israel; but by-and-by they will become a white and delightsome people” (Journal of Discourses 7:336). Spencer W. Kimball “mistakenly followed the 1830,” when,

At the October 1960 LDS Church Conference, Spencer Kimball utilized 2 Nephi 30:6 when he stated how the Indians “are fast becoming a white and delightsome people.” He said, “The [Indian] children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation”
(Improvement Era, December 1960, pp. 922-3).[ibid]

Or are these just these mens’ “opinions?” Yep, that’s it! This is an embarrassing topic for the LDS church, so we need to brush it off as being simply their “opinion.” No, friend. This was official doctrine of the LDS church, as evidenced by other BOM passages:

2nd Nephi 5:21—“And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, and they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.”
3rd Nephi 2:15—“And their curse was taken from them, and their skin became white like unto the Nephites.”

The “curse of Cain” doctrine was ingrafted into Mormon teaching. I mean, for crying out loud, if it wasn’t then why did they need to issue an OFFICIAL DECLARATION in 1978, and add it to the Doctrine and Covenants?? If it wasn’t official doctrine, why did they need to add to one of the sacred scriptures?

Boy, I could go on here. You know, that whole “fish in a barrel” thing. I’ll let this video sum it up:
